• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just ordered a lift table for the Spyder

Looks like it could possibly be a rear fender idea?

Modifying Lift

I had my 2012 RT-S over to a friends home garage today to do some work on the lower side. Our knees and backs were killing us. He has a MC table lift but of course it is not wide enough to accommodate a spyder. I remembered your post about buying a new one. What did you have to do to it to accommodate the width of the spyder? Any info would be helpful.

It came with four pipes so I just cut them all and welded them in the middle and called it good. You could just buy longer 1" pipe if you don't want to do any welding.
Love my lift. :doorag:

Nope, it's right where it should be. I unhooked the trailer to lift the Spyder. You see a cap that's off but miss the big freaking fender I added. You really need to get out more ;)
I saw the fender () but not the plastic teather and the cap...;)

Just checked on this and looks like they are still doing free shipping, so very cool.

Course that means I need to make room for it...anybody in the H-town area want to buy a used HF m/c lift for cheep?

Guess I'll be putting up a post in the FS forum cause if I don't get rid of this one first, the wife will be all :lecturef_smilie: and we don't want that.

install of lift

Working on my knees at Cowtown doing the NBV installs put a hurt on me and I'm just now getting better. I decided it was high time I went ahead and sprung for a good lift. I spent a few hours looking at all the different models and wound up going with the Weaver W-1500. The RT is right at 1000 lbs and I don't like the idea of using a 1000lb lift on a 1000lb bike when I could get a 1500lb lift for a couple of hundred more.

I am going to have to make it a little wider but that shouldn't be a big deal. I'm looking forward to getting off my knees when I do oil changes and work on my Spyder and others. :doorag:

thats ok, rented a fork lift to get it up drive way after delivery truck drops it with lift gate. owner of rentals will send a manual lift as well to position it after its in garage. Owner of rental co. told me he will make sure its put exactly where I want it...very nice man.

Lift table

I unloaded my direct lift table on to a small utility trailer from the semi. Then pulled that into my driveway and backed in to my shop.

Thinking of a two post lift. Also good for auto/truck and you can stand under while working under. Yes I do have the room.

Motorcylce lift mod

Here's some pics of my Black Widow motorcycle lift modification to lift my Spyder. Two 1" black pipes hold the wood extensions. I had to put the front extension on the lift to fit the Spyder. I open the tire jaw all the way and the Spyder rear tire fits in.

It looks like a sensor or a vent for whatever is above it. I haven't had my Spyder apart yet to recognize it. I do have the Shop Manual on a disk. i'll look it up for you. Sorry, I couldn't find it. Does your Spyder have Automatic AirBag and compressor? If it does, that piece might be the Pressure Relief Muffler. My best guess. Try lowering the Airbag pressure by the switch and listen for and feel if air is coming out of the thing-a-ma-jig.

I have a 4 post car lift with a jack lift and a scissor car lift. Advantage of getting a car scissor lift is you can work on your car tires brakes etc easier. A little more expense but a lot more useable. I just built a wooden table I put on the scissor lift. It makes a super work area also when I need a bigger table and when I don't need it I simple remover the top.
