Just ordered a lift table for the Spyder

Working on my knees at Cowtown doing the NBV installs put a hurt on me and I'm just now getting better. I decided it was high time I went ahead and sprung for a good lift. I spent a few hours looking at all the different models and wound up going with the Weaver W-1500. The RT is right at 1000 lbs and I don't like the idea of using a 1000lb lift on a 1000lb bike when I could get a 1500lb lift for a couple of hundred more.

I am going to have to make it a little wider but that shouldn't be a big deal. I'm looking forward to getting off my knees when I do oil changes and work on my Spyder and others. :doorag:

Looks good, I would have to have a bigger shop to fit it. Guess you can put it on wheel and a hitch and tow it with you.:roflblack:

Amen brother. Good choice!

I'd love to have a lift of my own also. Maybe one of these days!

Let us know how it works out Lamont this is on my list for sure. I justify it with my financial consultant (aka wifey) by telling her "look how much money I will save by doing my own maintenance"!

You won't regret it Lamont! My table had extension wings as an option but they weren't out far enough to accomodate the Spyder so I slid them out another 8" on a couple pieces of 1" pipe.

I wouldn't have been able to do the EVO sway bar install today without my lift....it makes lots of things possible.

Curious to see the spyder on the lift once you have it setup. I wouldnt think they would do wide enough :dontknow:. Dannymax had a good setup too.

Mine shipped yesterday and I've already thought about how I'm going to modify it.

First off I don't like the idea of having to work over the ramps on the outside so I'm going to cut the ramps so when I lift the Spyder the rear part of the outside ramps will stay on the ground and the front where the wheels rest will be fixed. This will allow me to get close to the Spyder for oil changes and such. I'll put a bump stop too for the front wheels.

Like that!

Pictures and how you did it - PLEASE ;)

Lamonster, I looked at trying to modify to drive the Spyder forward onto the lift... but the 'frunk overhang in the front would hit the tire clamp..... I could remove the tire clamp, but I use the lift as much or more my other bikes as I do for the Spyder. Would be a PITA to remove it and put it back on...
I ended up cutting the bottom run of the tire clamp off on an angle... about 6"... ripped 2X4's to fit inside the rectangle tubings... and screwed a board to the ripped 2X4 for a stop for the back tire. To put another bike on the lift, I just slip the stop out of the tire clamp.... and can remove the plates for the Spyder front tires if I want to.... it does make a good place to lay tools..LOL... but platforms need to be removed to pull the drop section for bike rear tire removal.
Link is a picture.... couldn't figure out how to make it show....

Got my lift today and modified it to work on with the RT. This thing was a handful weighing in at 800lbs. :yikes:

I'm going to use it as is for now and I've already started my next project :doorag:

Lamont,
You are going to be so happy with that bro!
The mods and general maintenance are gonna be even more fun now!!
;););););)

Congrats!!!

Mine came in today also. Only, I don't have a tractor :(. It's all unpacked and ready to be walked into the garage. Just waiting till it cools down a little.

How long are the widening tubes you used?

It came with four tubes, I cut them to 32" and welded them together.
