A couple of weeks ago, I began hearing a noise I hadn’t noticed before.
As per normal, when I go to start my ’22 Sport 900, I flip the start switch to RUN, poke the start button, and you hear what sounds like the fuel pump kicking on for a few seconds. Then I apply the throttle in reverse, hear a beep, push and hold the brake pedal down, depress the start push button, and the engine starts.
When I shut the bike down, I turn OFF the RUN switch, the engine stops, and this is when I hear a noise like another motor running (different noise than the fuel pump). The noise is coming from an area that sounds like the top RH side of the engine (when facing the bike). It runs until the bike’s electrical system times out and everything shuts down.
I just got back from a 1500 mile trip and the bike ran perfectly.
Any idea what I’m hearing?
