• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just Noticed a Different Noise from my Ryker Sport 900 When Shutting Down - Any ideas what it might be?

A couple of weeks ago, I began hearing a noise I hadn’t noticed before.

As per normal, when I go to start my ’22 Sport 900, I flip the start switch to RUN, poke the start button, and you hear what sounds like the fuel pump kicking on for a few seconds. Then I apply the throttle in reverse, hear a beep, push and hold the brake pedal down, depress the start push button, and the engine starts.

When I shut the bike down, I turn OFF the RUN switch, the engine stops, and this is when I hear a noise like another motor running (different noise than the fuel pump). The noise is coming from an area that sounds like the top RH side of the engine (when facing the bike). It runs until the bike’s electrical system times out and everything shuts down.

I just got back from a 1500 mile trip and the bike ran perfectly.

Any idea what I’m hearing?

Appreciate that, but it's not the fan(s). I suspect it's the starter. For some reason it's not having power removed from it after the engine actually starts. Just what tells it to have power cut, I'm not sure. Some engines use oil pressure. Once the system sees pressure building up, the starter is disconnected. I'll have to dig around and see what ain't doing what it's supposed to.
