• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Greetings all,

I am the "wife" of Spydergirl and now that there are two Spyders in the garage it's only fitting that I start throwing my weight around here. My Spyder started out full moon silver but it now has the Phantom Black kit. Some of you might be wondering why I picked my user name but got rid of the silver. The answer is quite simple, because of the RAIDERS!! You know, the Oakland "commitment to excrement" Raiders. Sorry, this is a 49ers and Colts household and because I work in Oakland, that was the main comment I got (and it was only a week).

Anyway, it's been only two weeks and I need an oil change!

See you around.

Geoff.
:hun: Your post confused me as to your identity?

welcome

One:spyder:Two:spyder2:Black:ani29:4 U. welcome did:shemademe_smilie:
Their all fast because Spyderlovers feed them well. Ryde on:doorag:

:congrats: Double the pleasure, double the fun!
We're really happy for you two! Keep us posted on the mods!

I just wonder how many households started with one Spyder and grew into a two Spyder family ???

That should be a whole other thread and should include photos of the two Spyders and their owners side by side. :2thumbs:

So, in the mean time... Geoff, have you scheduled your 600 mile service yet? 14 is going in tomorrow...

Yes, he is scheduled with the SpyderGirl Garage for his 600 mile service in 2 weeks. We're not going to have time to take it in to the dealer before our trip at the end of the month so it'll have to do.

Yupper-dawg! As long as your comfortable it's all good! It's soo cool that Geoff has his own ride now. And he's ridin too! :2thumbs: Excellent dude! I had a great freakin ride today. Put 167 miles on after work today. I am DIGGIN this new Scorpion EXO helmet. It's my favorite by far. Totally stable @ 100mph plus, even better than he Shoei. That was a surprise...

Oh yeah, I can handle the 600 mile sevice on my own. After nearly 3 years of having mine and taking it apart and putting it back together probably about a dozen times I'm pretty familiar with most things. He'll have about 850+ miles by the time I'm able to get the first oil change in. He's over 700 now and it's only been 2 1/2 weeks.

Something I noticed and thought was interesting, the tread on my 26K+ mile front tires are only worn just a little less than his brand new 700 mile front tires. I'm going to easily get 30K+ out of the front tires.

As for the helmet comparison, I'm pretty happy with my Shoei. :)

Wow! That's amazing tire wear. Are they the OEM KR21's or did you go another route? That truly is something. It's alo pretty cool that you can do all that! :2thumbs: I'm learning. I have wrenched cars forver but never bikes. I'll get there! Just need to tool up a little...

As for the helmet, I LOVE my Shoei as well. Kathy and I both have RF-1100's. That's why I'm so surprised by this Scorion EXO-1000. I didn't expect it to perform this way. But it's awsome! The air pump adust for the cheek pads and the flip-down inner-visor are my favorite features. But the stability of this thing is phenominal.

I took 14 in today and had her done up. She's all good. 750.1 miles in 4 days! But it's out of the way now so we are good for a while now...

They are the stock tires, yes. As for wrenching on the cars vs motorcycles, not really any different. Just get a service manual and you're good to go. I don't try to do anything that I believe to be out of my league such as the valve clearance check, I leave that to my insured dealer that would be giving me a new motor if they screw that one up.

That Scorpion is a very nice helmet. :2thumbs:

Glad to hear you've got your service done and are good to go. :doorag:

Spyder On!!

You two should have a race and see who gets the bragging rights:2thumbs:

LOL!! That would be interesting. It would be close but I'm pretty sure she'd get me!! At least for now. I'm still workin on gettin off the line a bit better. I'm nice and smooth now, but off the line race is different. No problem with the SE5 of course.

I am getting really good with the SM5 in selecting the right gear for performance cornering and any other condition overall now but I'm still a bit "rookie-ish" off the line. I'm working on it. This new bike is fast though. Really fast. There is something about this engine that is just different. It's a definite runner! :D

Now that I think of it though, Spydergirl has the High windshields, bags and other things that produce drag. My configuration is very clean at this point, so that might compensate... HMMM... :spyder:

It would probably compensate some in the long run due to the excess weight, and the fact that windshield is like pushing a barn door down the highway. :D Short distance she would probably eat your lunch!
