I hope the first one works I just dropped my 08 SM5 off for a new DPS. Just dont want to end up like some of you that had to get 2 or 3. It took 3 weeks to get this one. I know stop :bdh:
Glad to hear it wasn't too long of a wait. I hope everything goes well and the Spyder runs smoothly for you.
Everybody that are having the dps changed have you all had steering issues or is this preventive

If the DPS starts to act up, you dont have to call a tow truck. Simply pull the power steering fuses(which are clearly marked) and drive it in manual steering. Get it to a dealership when you can. Dont continue to ride with iffy powersteering as it could veer unexpectedly to left or right.Glad you're having some good rides with the new DPS!
Just curious, can it be driven if the DPS breaks, or does it render you having to getting a tow truck?
What happens if the DPS breaks, in general, does it just not do power steering. Is it difficult or impossible to drive without the DPS working at 100%?
thanks and ride safe!

OK, ATA I have edited my comment to include both fuses. Of course this does not include every possible steering failure that could ever occur, but I would certainly try this. I would take it easy on the way to the shop, though. On the contrary... at least on mine... the steering issue existed whether or not the front fuse was pulled. Never got around to pulling the rear one.
