Just curious...600 mile service complete

Well, today was the day. Called first thing this am and asked the dealer if they could squeeze me in for the 600 mile service later in the afternoon. To my surprise, they said come on in around 1 and be prepared to sit for a couple hrs. Headed down with a bag of food in hand and was ready to wait it out. Showed up at 1 and left at 4, three hrs for the service which was about 200 miles over due. Sound about right?
Holy crap, they really tear it down completely! I never saw my spyder look so naked. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they were very thorough. Had some small issues addressed, no questions asked, had the fluids/filters changed, adjustments, and got the new TB update. All seems well, very happy with these folks.
Hate to ask this next question, cause I was gonna pay it anyway, but 3 hrs labor and a oil/filter change kit(as they call it) later...I'm out @ $400 smacks, fair? Not that I really care about the $, just curious what y'all have encountered in the past? Tyme to ryde, see ya in 3000 mi

After reading some of the horror stories about some dealers, I consider myself very fortunate/lucky to have them so close to home. They have definitely earned my business.
Reading a lot of your posts, have to agree that dealer set up can make or break the experience.

Considering you saw that they broke it all down I would say they probably did a Good job- AND now that its documented you can also do a good job in the future by doing your own oil changes and such and breaking it down now and again to check all the area,s out!!:clap:

Spyders are expensive machines to maintain. Skip the 10,000 mile valve adjustment--it will add $800 smacks to the bill. Most people are waiting until 30,000 miles or later.

600 MILE SERVICE

I just had 600 mile service performed at Buck's in Akron NY. They were kind enough to schedule me in 1st thing as I wanted to wait for it. Not only did they get it right in, but they were very friendly, helpful and inexpensive. I paid $198.00 for the service(including fully synthetic oil) and about $80.00 to install my air horn. I was in and out in about 3 hours. Chris in service was great. I highly recommend.

Ouch... So you're saying that this can be skipped until the 30,000 mile service? And there is no issue? Why then does BRP want to do it at 10,000? For the money? $800.00 is allot of money. :yikes:

Several owners have checked their spyders at 10K and 20K--no adjustments needed. One of these include my dealer. The general consensus is that BRP was being over enthusiastic on the valve checks.

And yes, $800--I did it on my first 2008 Spyder. Been there, done that, have the T shirt.
