Saw today that the Saints were going to honor a Vet, he declined beccause of the stuff going on in the NFL. I think all military /Vet should refuse to particate in the pregame. to include the honor guard. There are more of us than them.

Never thought I would have to worry about politics while watching sports... Guess we were both wrong!

A forum without politics?? Good luck with that search. I do find this forum to be different because the political (and other) discussions and debates tend to stay civil and very rarely turn personal or ugly.

A real football nut, Superbowl attendance every year etc informed me that the 4 branches of the military pay the NFL 12K each to play the national; anthem and do the flag thing. Their justification is that it is a recruiting tool. IMO that is pathetic, but before that the players were in the locker room until it was over, now you have this issue.

IMO, if you are on the job and I am paying you to "work", you don't have any right to voice any views except the company line. Off "campus" you can do any stupid thing you want. You want total "freedom of speech" write your own check.

I agree, this is not a topic for this forum. Lets talk Spyders not politics. It wasn't political till Trump made it so.
