• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Jump Starting a Spyder with another Spyder Question

Sorry Scotty but that just sounds a little over cautious to me. It's not that big of a risk and I've done it a few times myself, that's why I carry jumper cables. We can agree to disagree on that one. :doorag:
:roflblack: Cautious is my middle name. It is good to know that you have done it successfully! I approached it from my experiences with motorcycles, which have somewhat smaller batteries and are not as forgiving. I thing Roger had the soundest advice...ask some questions about the problem, and approach it from there. If a catastrophic failure of the dead battery was suspected, or a voltage reading was extremely low (I do carry a multimeter), I would probably sugguest an alternative. If the battery was merely low (12-12.5 volts) I would probably go for it if jumper cables were available. If the situation ever presents itself, I expect that would be my guide. On the other hand, I would not ask someone to jump mine unless I was really desparate.

I've started carrying a jumper battery and compressor I bought from Costco after having a dead battery at the cemetery. It does fit in the frunk, however, I wish it was just a lil bit smaller to fit in the side bag on the RT.

Having many bikes with remote starters and remote air suspension and setting at shows all day starting or raising and lowering my bikes I've ran the battery down more times than I could count and always had another bike jump me so I could make it to the hotel.

If your bike goes dead at the BBQ or owners event I'll be glad to give you a jump, no need for AAA ;)

Jump starting . Good :spyder2: battery positive to positive terminals bad battery then negative terminal from good:spyder2:battery to bad:spyder2: frame......Make sure the good :spyder2: is running prior starting the bad:spyder2:. Good luck.

Following the procedure above, I would have no problem going from spyder to spyder!

You had a dead battery at the cemetery? :roflblack: Your Spyder is probably haunted.
