jl audio pods

Have anyone heard the quality of the sound of the JL audio speaker pods for the spyder RS? JL have a slam pak but i dont want to give up my trunk space, so im thinking about just getting the pods.

I have the pods only for the same reason and they are of typical jl audio quality, very clear but there aren't much bass.
I think crossovers cutoff is pretty high cuzz it was design to be used with the sub. I used an EQ to boost the bass and signal strength in general. My iPhone is source of music and it's output thru headphone jack is not that strong.
Yes they are little bulky but I think they actually make spyder look better, especially from the front.

Happy enough
You loose all the base at speed anyway and unless you get a custom pods$$$$$, jl audio is the only game. It's a bargain too. Speakers in the pods are $400 speakers.
I am thinking about getting cap for high pass for tweeters and use built-in crossover on amp to set cuffoff point a little lower on woofers. I got 4channel amp so I can drive them seperately. I was going to build sub box on tail end but never got around to it.
It's got to be the passive crossover with cutoff too high.
I had 6 1/2" in smaller homemade pods that had more bass than these. Jl audio are 7.7" in bigger enclosure.

I take that back. I can just use the builtin crossover for tweeters and use amp's crossover for woofers. Just need to run speaker cables for for woofers from the amp with low pass coil...

Or I will just listen to it as is... It's loud enough at freeway speed and have enough mid bass at low speed.

knowing JL audio they definately are worth every penny you pay. SO if you can afford em I wold rock them .
