Jealous Harley Riders

At stops we get the most attention and curiosity from the HD crowd. The most frequent honored request is to sit on it. We usually give out the little BRP foldouts to whomever asks for one as well. Oddly enough, the snubs come from other Spyder folks in a group.(not ours of course) Of course, we were used to that from GWRRA encounters while on our Wing. So, I'll be on the lookout for HD trades at Can-Am dealers from now on.

I sold my Harley to buy my Spyder and have never looked back. I do have a lot of Harley shirts jackets etc and wear them when I feel like it. After all Harley Davidson is mostly a clothing retailer with an occasional motorcycle thrown in! I enjoyed the 35 years that I rode Hogs and I also enjoyed the people that I ran into. Now on Spyders I feel exactly the same, love the bike (RS) and the people! You what ? I love motorcycles and folks who ride them. Could not care what you ride as long as you ride!:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

Makes you wonder if they ride a HD because they like it or just want attention?

Have you ever heard a Spyder owner rev their engine while cruising in first gear or while sitting at a stop light?

someone who simply enjoys riding a motorcycle... probably doesn't really care what "brand" of bike they're on. they're probably just happy to be riding. in time... you can come to really appreciate "just riding".

but it IS funny to watch the traded looks sometimes.

I don't think they're jealous, but a majority are brand snobs, and conformists for the most part. They do get on my nerves from time-to-time. As for me, if that's what brings happiness into their lives, then good, but quit thinking everyone else is supposed to think that way too. I just saw pictures of an old friend, who, a year after he bought his HD, left his wife of 22 years. He is now totally "sleeved" and sporting a patch. I hope it's a LE mc, but the patch and his apperence do not coincide with his job, in fact it's just the opposite.

I traded my '07 Dyna Low Rider for an RT-A&C back on June 6. Don't miss it in the least, except my car won't fit in the garage anymore. Minor detail as the car's an '08.

A co-worker of mine was talking to 3 of us and actually said "I would never ride one of THOSE"--referring to my :ani29:. I politely told him it will leave most motorcycles in the dust and trying to catch up on the road. He has a Honda but never rides it. Only bought it to "keep up with the Jones'". He actually got excited when he went 60 mph on his bike last year. I still had my Honda 750 and told him when he went 80, he might be able to keep up with me. That shut him up!!!! :roflblack:

Yeah, I realize it's not a Harley story, but just as snobby (for someone who never rides their bike)!!!
