• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If you want to see center point for jacking the Spyder, here it is.

You can use jack stands to support the Spyder while working on it. I had mine jacked up to change the oil and to make the highway mounts. You can see what I used for good solid supporting points.

No that's part of the mounting that I made for the highway pegs.

Hi Lamonster,

Can you repost the pictures of these contact points?

I have a regular rolling floor jack and jack stands... Just wondering where to put them, and if I can get away with using the regular floor jack versus a bike jack.

Lamont, I don't see the pictures...

I'm getting ready to do an oil change on my wife's '08 GS, which I've never done before, & would love to see how you lifted yours and where you placed the jack stands.

Thanks

If you want a little easy height when changing oil put a 2x6 in front of the front and rear wheels and drive up on them then hit the brake REAL quick!:roflblack: Thats what I do?:ohyea:

Same here. .. I ended up making some ramps out of some 2x10's I had left over... Works great!

Good pictures LaMonster... In referance to your words below:

Question: In referance to the rear jack stand, is it just sitting on the rear passenger peg bracket? No concern about the strength of the Pot Metal that the pegs mount too??

Questions: Your highway brackets, did you make them or is there a link you can provide in order for others to order the mounting kit?? And are they pretty SOLID?? Where do they bolt on underneath?? Interesting in the same design you are displaying... About a year ago I put a set of Highway peg on there that mounted under the splash guard and was bolted onto the CRIMPED portion of the frame,, the Highway bracket was made out of hard steel but they way it bolted on was WEAK to say the least,, Needless to say I have taken them off and on the shelf they sit...

Thanks for your help brother and see ya soon..

AARRGGHH

Can't find one anywhere ... and Google is usually your friend

I already have a Harbor Freight lift that has seen me through several motorcycles, one scooter and an ATV. It's like a cockroach ... it just won't die. But I want something that looks good as well as being fit for purpose.

Regards,

Dan
