• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's nice having visitors

Yep. Had one of those at the other house before I moved here. The dog let me know when the bear came on the deck in the middle of the night.

No hunting for me. Just loud noises and the bear left.

Two words. "Bear sausage"

Made it several times. Like it better than ... I almost can't admit it.... Venison sausage. Shame on me. :bbq::bbq:

Had a sow come around a corner from a parked car in front of a motel in Durango, Co. last summer. I was just closing the door and in my bathing suit heading for the pool. Bear was about 30 feet away and looking at me. I think my bathing suit got wet before I got to the pool.

I've never tried that; but you've made me more than curious!
We normally just get a couple of roasts out of the hindquarters, and cut the rest up into stew meat...
...And the stew meat even comes out pretty good, if you throw it on the grill!

Try it, you won't be disappointed. I use 60-40 bear/pork butt.
I used to make my own seasoning mix, but many yrs ago I stumbled on Morton's meatloaf and sausage mix. It's a sage based breakfast mix. I've made all types of sausage with this mix. Venison, bear, wild turkey, squirrel. Good stuff.
