• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's here...

It's not QUITE home yet... but I'm feeling a lot better! :D

Deanna777

:banghead: Short, stinkin' handlebars.. you had nuthin' to grab, and no leverage to work with... :gaah:
I dropped in right in front of thee owner of the shop too. :yikes:
His calm response: "I guess that you won't do THAT again; will you?"
I thought it meant that I was a goner...
I worked there for two more years after that!
He was a cool dude! :2thumbs:

Was it like this one, Bob??RX1000.jpg

That was my bike in '86!

View attachment 83016View attachment 83017  So here I am at the dealers at 10:10am. I sign some paperwork, give them some insurance cards, and trot off to the shop...
It is an absolutely GORGEOUS color!! :2thumbs: I walked around it for a very long while... I'm not wild about the decal on the rear side storage compartments... The chrome trim pieces on the side DO have "Can Am" blackened out...
Ann; you were 100% right... It dfoes come with that accessory shelf in the top trunk! (And no frunk release button! :sour:)
Aaron Shelton: their technician; let me fire it up...:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: Did I mention yet how much I love the new sound?!? :2thumbs::yes::ohyea::yes::yes::ohyea::yes: An Angels' Choir; would not have sounded better....
Then... I went to find where they had my old bike stored...
Sitting in the back of the unheated part of the building... in a row of used, dusty, and forgotten former "Pride and Joys" it sat...
I touched the seat that carried the Missus and I over all of those great miles... I remembered the really GREAT friends that I made along the way...
It didn't seem right to leave it there...
...But I had no other option...
It was a VERY emotional moment for me...
Once I got the "dust wiped out of my eyes"; I went back up front, and arranged to pick it up in two weeks.
And that's my story... ;)

Hey Bob, all kidding aside for a moment ;), I am very happy that you got to finally see your baby!

I know now it will be hard waiting for it to be sitting at home, but just think (dream) of all the good times you will soon have w it!

Thanks for letting us live through it w you!

As as far as the "dust" I would have to say I understand.

When I purchased my Shelby...I drove around the back of the dealership and saw it sitting there...I stopped....and looked....I literally had tears (dust) in my eyes. I thought I was there for a couple minutes, but the prep guy told me I sat there in my vehicle staring at it for 20 minutes. Lol

Maybe it was the shock of buying a $65,000 vehicle :roflblack: After only being able to buy $30,000 vehicles, but I think it was partly the 9 month wait.

Just saying I can imagine how you felt seeing it for the first time, cherish that moment.

apparently your camera had tears in its eyes too

Those were the only two photos of the new bike that I could salvage...
I lost all of the ones that I took of Fawkes... :gaah:
The batteries were dying, and it slowed the camera down to a crawl... I "pooched" the shots by not holding things still, for long enough... :opps:

What do you mean by "pooched"?

As a dog I'm offended by your racist remark! :gaah:

Lol

.

You're darn right!!
:lecturef_smilie: And there are VERY few owners, that would want to be seen helping you out of such an "awkward" situation... :opps: :D
