• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It's Going To Be January...

Hold up was the Drug Dealer meeting to get approval for the Black with Gold trim color combo!

Sorry Bob. I would want the product now or my $10,000 paying me interest. That is a hell of a large deposit to have in the dealers Bank Bob.

Jack

100% Agree. You better be getting something on top for the 6mo interest they earned. Oh wait they will probably say well we did put your quote in our brochure so that has to be worth something. Yeah right. I want my $2

JANUARY???

It's been since June without a Spyder to ride? By now I'd be having withdrawal symptoms, craving, uncontrolled shaking, screaming out my back door. How do you get your "fix"? Here in Ohio I ride year 'round but in winter it may be several days between rides. On those days I can be found in the garage sitting on my RT, pretending to be north on Rt 62, waving to other riders. But when my "ride" is over, I'll clean off the freshly smashed bugs off the windshield. And notice a teardrop in my headlights. See, my RT gets those same withdrawal symptoms....
Sorry, you'll need a bike to do this. Maybe sit on the arm of your couch, with your helmet on?
Chuck

My dealer has had over ten grand of mine gathering dust since June... :gaah: :cus: :gaah:

Delivery???

The least the dealer could do is deliver your fully prepped purchase to you.

Kaos----- my forum name change soon to take place,:(:(

I sort of feel as if I was just kicked in both butt-cheeks...
I got an email from a source inside BRP, and a call from my dealer:
The 2018 Anniversary models will be delivered in January! :gaah:

 Time to start praying for a Mid-Winter thaw...

any ideas on the rest of the 2018 models????? I've got a Champagne Metallic on order and was told by my dealer "maybe" a January delivery????? hope they are producing all 2018 models at the same time.

Doesn’t all of the other motorcycle manufacturers, boat manufacturers and auto manufacturers release their next year models in the later part of the year before ..? I have purchased new Harley’s like that before and autos as well. I just can’t understand why BRP can’t do the same ..? Does anybody have any explanation for this ..?

Yes, most manufacturers do just that. My new 2017 Subaru was purchased in June of 2016.

One reason is they use their work force and part of one building for both Spyder assembly and Ski Doo component production. Spyder assembly stops in April. This year the building wasn't available for Ski Doo production until June because of Homecoming. I think usually Spyder production starts back up in November. Also, this year they were revamping the building and assembly line to be used to assemble both Ski Doos and Spyders. They have a second building for Ski Doo assembly. It might run year round, I don't recall.

I might be a little mixed up on this, but I do know that in years past there was no Spyder assembly from May to October.

Another thought. Since the hype for the new edition started in June, I am thinking that those making the decision to buy one--should not have been shoved under the rug. It was clear that the final day to order was October something.

From the advertising--I was thinking that the specials were going to be produced as ordered and made first. Did I miss something??

Ok, this makes sense to me now -Thanks

Thank you very much for helping me understand the process used to build these products..! I completely understand why it takes so long to get the new Model year Spyder. It’s still a bit crappy that you have to wait so long for a product that your paying a lot of money for though..

Curious

Bob, just curious....when you put in your order, did BRP give you an expectation that the unit would be delivered earlier than Jan. 2018, or were you just hoping to get it early?

The sad part Bob is that if you would have kept your money and your Spyder you could have traded like everyone else...looks like there was very little advantage to making the deal in June. The only one who won on this set up was your dealer. Sounds underhanded doesn't it?

Not True

He got a much better price for his trade by allowing them to sell it during the season rather thanhave it sit in the show room until March. I am so amazed at how people "demonize" BRP and the dealer network. You make it sound like there is some sort of conspiracy going on to steal Bob's Spyder and his money. Do you think that BRP is going to suddenly close and steal away in the night with Bob's money? Give me a break! Bob knew that he wouldn't see the Spyder before December so we are talking a couple of weeks. Please people :crackpipe:

But then it wouldnt be a Limited Edition

Hmmm... I wonder how long it would take me to find some gold wheels, a Trans Am Gold Eagle and some gold pin-stripe for my basic black 15 RT...hmmmm...:f_spider:

Just pullin' someones leg;) Bob, I am envious that you get the new display!
