• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Its a miracle ...

... or at least it felt like it. I bought my RT-S a few weeks ago and have been struggling to adapt to the steering and handling ever since. I was considering buying the anti-sway bar that is recommended here and possibly getting an alignment done. Well, today I decided to check the air pressure even though I watched the dealer check it just a few days ago. The front tires were at 14 psi and the rear tire was at 23 psi. I aired (no nitrogen!) the front tires to 20 and the rear tire to 28. I took it out to my favorite curvy back road route and finally realized what a Spyder is supposed to handle like. I was taking the curves fast enough that I could feel the stability control kick in every once in a while. I really feel stupid for not checking the tire pressure earlier but I am put out with the dealer. I instructed him to put in the maximum pressure on all tires because the weight 2-up is fairly close to the maximum recommended. The temperature has not changed enough to cause that much drop in pressure.

Great news..!!

It can be that simple. I do check air pressure regularly as well as oil (on v-twins) and coolant. Now that you are kicking the nanny you may consider the sway bar does make a difference..!! :2thumbs:

I have a 2010 rt and check air pressure in the tires and rear shock almost every Ryde. Better Ryde, better gas mileage, Better tire wear. :coffee::coffee:

When I picked up my 2014 RT-S a few weeks ago while I was riding it home I knew the tires were under inflated because it did not feel right in turns on my way home from the dealer.I had a 2010 RS-S and figured that had to be the problem(wrong tire pressure) The next day I checked them before my ride and yup they were like 14 front and 21 rear.I added air to them and went for a ride and yes she was a animal in turns and I was very happy

Air Pressure

It sounds like the 15 psi front 28 psi rear the manual suggests is too low, especially in the front tires. I think I'll try 20 psi in the front and see if it's better. I'm new to the Spyder, by the way, and welcome input from more experienced ryders.

CHECK THIS ALSO

:shemademe_smilie:.....You may also have a leaky SCHRADER valve ( air valve ). So the correct pressure may have been in it, but slowly leaked out. Check it again to see what's going on. If you don't have the tool to tighten it , they arn't expensive or any gas station that does any kind of auto work will let you use theirs ( at least they should ).......Mike

Thanks for posting. It is great when a simple thing like an air pressure adjustment will make the :spyder2: handle so differently.

Glad you can now enjoy your new ride.

Gotta love some of these dealers. My tires were under inflated by several pounds from my dealer also.

Your experience is similar to mine. I was frustrated with the steering for 300 miles, then I checked the pessure for the 1st time. 10 in both front tires and 20 in back. I bought a pressure balancer for the front tires, pumped everything up to spec and it made a incredible difference. Lesson learned!
