Decided to pull the side covers on the new 2020 RTL to see where everything is located and guess what I found under the intake manifold. The pictures really don't do it justice. The bike is a couple of months old. I don't have rats or mice problems so it either came from Can-Am or Tri-County Motorsports who should have seen it if it can from Can-Am. There must have been more than 30 cigarette butts in this trash. White paper towels etc.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
It's a little bit trashy.

It seems unlikely it came from Tri-County. I have been using them for service for years. They are a bit pricey, but professional all the way. Critters will pick up all kinds of stuff to make a nest with. I would not rule that out because of cigarette butts. It sure looks like nesting material to me.

That's rodents for sure, it don't take but a few days for them to make a nest out of stuff like that.

I can see where this could be a finger pointing issue between you, the dealer, and Can-Am. I don't know how far a rodent will drag cigarette butts to make a nest. But I don't think it would be more that a few feet. If you have a smoker near where the bike is kept try to find out if the butts came from them. I have seen a lot of dealers who have outside bike holding areas which likely could be near where employees take a smoke break. That's where I would be looking for the source if you don't have a smoker at home. Rodents leave evidence (droppings) of their presence. Look closely and also look closely for chewed wires and other soft things. Good luck..... Jim

I think your right on this one!!!! Looking at the collection of stuff that's in there and where it was put, I would vote on the nice!! That doesn't mean that the nest was built at your place, the bike was stored at a lot of places before sale, and if you think they take all the covers off the bike before sale,, right!!!! Good you found it!!! P.S Give all the wires around where you found the nest a look at, because they love munching on the casing of it!!!

Another vote for critters, mice most likely. Just because you don't see 'em, doesn't mean you don't have em. Clean it up real well and keep the area around it clean and free of anything to build a nest with. As mentioned though, it might have come from somewhere like that, and not found by the dealer.

That is how it works in Florida. New Spyders delivered in crates and assembled at dealership......... and they charge for the assembly, so if it is not done right, shame on them. I pre-ordered one, so I know how it works. They needed 2 days to un-crate and assemble it.

That's cleaner than my 2017 F3L was. Mine had been a rodent hotel for some time, judging from the nest materials and other "leavings".

I think you are right about some where in shipping, I don’t smoke, keep a real clean garage, no mice droppings. I think Tri-County just did a poor pre-inspection. I had to wait for a week for them to uncrate and build the bike and had me pick it up the next day so I think it could even have come from Canada. BRP was really interested in more pic’s and information when I sent it to them. Just glad it didn’t catch fire as all the paper in there was really dry. All of the paper was at one time white and were still in one piece but came apart as I pulled them out. Mice would have carried smaller pieces. I am just mad about the redelivery inspection didn't catch it.
