• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

it is here ( our 2nd spyder )

well we found the replacement cycle ! after we sold the silver eagle , we found this 2011 r-t limited , at a very nice price will low mileage , so kind of knew it was ours
IMG_20180916_114246.jpgIMG_20180916_114318.jpg this one is the r-t s-e which is a trip to get use to after the r-t s-m model ( 4000 r-p-m shift ) :banghead: or stay in the gear you are in at the moment if you try to shift ... going to be a good ride I do believe

I saw something

I read an older thread , kind of got 2 stations set , tried other spots and set it up , but went back to the previous setting ... But got 2 ,on the right track !

:congrats:

The 2011 RT is still the two cylinder. It likes to be shifted in the 5000 - 5500 range and kept there. You will find better performance and gas mileage that way.

Most of us SE shifters just leave the throttle open and punch the button to the next gear (UP). I let mine do the downshifting on its own 95% of the time. If you need extra power to pass then manually shift it down.

If you are in your machines "sweet spot" you will not even notice a shifting clunk or other noise when the gears change up. Just a gentle "click."

Others may suggest even a bit higher shift point. I don't use fifth gear unless I am over 60 mph.

We just turned 30K on ours and are very happy with it.

not sure

not sure of the down shift yet , I rode 3 miles to day , finding the sweet spot as you mentioned , but the down shift , I am not sure of yet , I do not see it down shifting , I may be not letting it get there on its own ... thanks for the replies every one !

It does seem to take forever on the downshift. Try a ramp and go from highway speed (60+) onto the ramp with a stop at the end. No throttle, you should hear the gears shfting down (I am thinking around 2,500 rpm for all but 1--that is less), 4, 3, 2, 1. The first gear down shift is usually the last 20 ft or so. I slow gradually.

I loved my 2011, but always felt like shifting too soon. Now I have a '14 and love the new trans. Don't feel that urge to shift to soon.
Ride in comfort,
John
