• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is this a decent deal? Newbies buying there first Spyder.

Does it have a lot of aftermarket additions?

Perhaps someone has mentioned this and I overlooked it, but you need to find out what (if any) modifications have been done. Did they already add an upgraded seat? Tri-axis handlebars? Sway Bar, Bumpskid, extra lighting, etc etc etc?
I bought a new 2015 RT-S only because I couldn't find a used 2014 or 2015 within 250 miles (and I wanted the bigger engine to keep up with hubby's Goldwing). And while I feel I got a good deal, I've already added over $5,000 in 'stuff' for my safety, comfort and enjoyment. Read the boards for some of the most popular changes folks make, and if this used bike already has them, it's not such a bad price. Just something to think about. And welcome in advance to the club! :2thumbs:

I had a PM exchange with a forum member in Florida. He sold his 2014 RT Limited with low miles (don't recall what it was and ad is now gone) about 2 weeks ago for $20,500.

Spyder-dude sold his 2014 RTS with lots of farkles and 16k miles recently. His last listed price was $19,995 but he hasn't said what he got for it.

I gave it away for $18,500 but wanted to sell it quickly to make room in the garage. My new 2016 F3T Limited Special Series takes up a lot less room now :)

2015

Hi, Dave and Karen
Check with Motorsports Superstore in Hamilton Al. I traded for my 15 RTS last Sept. I felt they were very up front and honest
and I saved more than enough to make the drive.
Welcome to the Spyder world, hope to see you on the road.

Ray.

Today we took our first test drives. The first spider RT Limited was a 2012. That was a lot of fun and I was hooked immediately.then we took a test drive on a 2016 spider RT limited. Love the power of the 1330. The wife even took it for a drive and said, "oh yeah, I could do this." And she has never driven a motorcycle before. We like the 1330 as everyone suggested on my other forum topic I posted. But don't want to spend the 2016 prices. The Spyder RT was so comfortable and our big butts fit fine. So we have found a 2014 RT limited in great condition with 8000 miles and 2 years on the warranty left on it. It's on consignment at a can am dealership for $21499. Still have tax, etc to pay. Whatcha think?:chat:

You can buy a new 2015 RT Limited for that price. ($21,500) Several sitting on the floor marked this price at both dealers here in Tucson AZ. Louis Motorsports in Greenville TX will beat even that price. Seriously!

Hello Jack, new member here looking to get my first spyder. I live within 40 miles of Louis Motorsports in Greenville TX and their price for a new 2015 RT Limited is $23,599. Can you please tell me who you spoke with at Louis that is selling the RT Limited for under $21,500? Thanks!

UPDATE 2-26-16: Thanks for your input. My husband checked out the bike and said it was very nice and well maintained. So we worked out a deal for under $20,000. It also has a new rear tire. I'll see it for the first time tomorrow when we pick it up provided nothing happens between now and then. I'll keep you posted. Karen

You can easily buy a leftover new 2015 for that amount or a little less.

It was about 16 months ago and do not remember the name but he is the internet sales guy at Louis. Several here in Tucson at Ride Now for $21,500. These are marked on the windshield. (2015 RT Limited and a RT S) I believe the RT S is $19,500. Two locations here in Tucson. One on 22nd St. and one on Ina Rd.

Thanks for the reply Jack. I just checked the websites of the Ride Now dealer in Tucson. (I use to live in Tucson, so familiar with the area). The one on 22nd has only one 2015 RT-S but it is the manual transmission (SM6) for $21,999. Ina Road dealer has only one 2015 RT Limited for $30,799. Do you know if they have more than what is listed on their website? Thanks.

I just spoke with a Chris at Louis Powersports in Greenville, TX. They would not give me a out-the-door price over the phone??? However, I did get an out the door quote from Granbury Motorsports: 2015 RT-S (SE6) for $25,473. Is it normal for some dealers to not give out the door price quotes?

Those that don't may have a couple reasons.

How do they know you are not a competing dealer trying to find out "how low will you go?"

OR:

They have add on prices and tricks up their sleeves.

There are many way to squeeze that extra $ out of a customer. I have posted this a few times, so will not list them again here. Caveat Emptor

Thanks for everyones input.

I ended up visiting Louis Powersports in Greenville since I live relatively close, and I was unable to get them to give me a quote on the phone, and no answer to emails. After about 30 minutes of them trying to figure out what they had in stock, it appears they did not even have in stock what they had listed on the web. Of course they happen to have an upgrade RT Limited or 2016 models for much higher prices.

Good news is I did get an out-the-door quote from a couple of dealers, and I made a deal on a 2015 RT-S SE6 at Team Mancuso Powersports in La Marque, TX.eam Mancuso Powersports South in La Marque, Texas

Going to pick it up tomorrow! Thanks again!

I have found that the "in stock" listings are nothing more than a re-hash of what the BRP Spyder line offers. Many times it has absolutely nothing to do with what they have in stock. :(

I noticed that too, however the one I was interested in they actually had listed on cycle trader as well - go figure.

Hey, I just noticed you are in Chugiak, AK! I lived there in the late '60's, early '70's. I loved that place back then. Family of 6 lived in a one room trapper cabin with a plywood lean-to; no running water and an out house! We use to haul drinking water from Peter's Creek! Not many people around there back then.

Peters Creek has grown and is now another "bedroom" community. I live in the "Birchwoods" and most of the lots are 2.5 acres. Mine and all but one neighbor still have our wooded lots.
