That's what I did on my 2013 BRP Comfort Seat. Tried an Ultimate Tall Boy at SpyderQuest, and the BRP Comfort Seat actually set me back further from the handlebars, which is what I need. The newer comfort seats are actually more comfortable than they were in 2013 and before, but I'm tied into the tan color, which BRP no longer offers. I like the "antler brown" color and it matches my rear backrest and my (very comfy) Utopia backrest. No your not .... I also like my stock 2014 RT .........However I am thinking of adding Dave's Gel pads this winter ....:yes::yes:...Mike
I used to use an AirHawk-R cushion, which was a big improvement, but Motorcycle Dave's GEL/foam insert is actually even better than that. I won't say that the Comfort Seat with the gel insert is more comfortable than a custom built RDL would be, but I'm happy with it for now. Can't imagine anything other than an RDL giving me any more leg room than what I've now got.
I think you are going to like Dave's GEL/foam pad, Mike. Since you're going to have to open up the seat, why not stick in one of his electric heating elements also for those late Fall Vermont rides?
