Is there such a thing as a seat that is as comfortable as sitting in your lazy boy???

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It depends on your body and comfort needs. Strapping a lazy boy seat onto a Spyder may be overkill, but anyone can get long distance comfort. I bought gel inserts from Motorcycle Dave, and a new stock seat from ebay, and had a local upholsterer build a seat to my liking. It was cheaper than buying from one of the big companies, and I ended up with a seat that treats my back and legs with respect. BTW, Dave suggested that I go this route. It was a great idea. I was lucky to have a friend who has done car, plane, and chopper upholstery for years.

I agree with Bob. You don't want a seat that comfortable, which I think doesn't exist anyway.

I agree with JCWeatherman. Because of my size I bought a Comfort Seat as part of the deal for my Spyder because I viewed it as the most reasonable price gamble. On the choice I won and am most comfortable on it. Since only your butt will know IMO the most reasonable financial approach is to try someone like Motorcycle Dave with a stock seat you can find on e-bay or on SL. The second best option IMO would be buying another stock seat for the pan and see what Russell Day Long could build for you.

if they only had a saddle store....all the manufacturers placing their best seats in one location for you to sit on and maybe have a virtual ryde screen and motion for a test ryde....:banghead::banghead: Like a mechanical bull at the local CW bar and grill.....:roflblack:

I agree with John back in post #3. I too bought the gel pad from Dave. I watched his videos and looked at the pictures and then did it myself. Although I consider myself mechanical I had never done this type of thing before. I dived into on a Saturday morning and was done by Saturday afternoon. Yes I did make a couple of emergency calls to Dave(who amazingly enough was answering his phone on a Saturday and was willing to take time out of whatever he was doing to help me out) but I got thru it. That process changed a 2 hour seat into an as much time as you seat.I have ridden to Yellowstone,to Sturgis, To Beartooth Pass twice,all over Utah since I did the install with no discomfort. And I saved hundreds of dollars. And made a good friend in Dave.

I have done the gell insert thing. I had a very nice Ultimate tall boy seat on an RT and have a custom Russell Day Long Saddle on my F3.
I have also ridden a few bikes with Corbin seats.
Out of all of them, its not even close. Russell built to fit your butt and weight. The fact that the build and material quality is so much better as well is a very nice plus.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones In that I have no problems with the stock seat, I've done 600 to 700 mi. days on my RT-S with no problem at all..

In over fifty years of riding and almost as many assorted motorcycles, I have yet to find the "perfect" seat. The early ones were all ridden stock. 1978 was the year I started to switch to aftermarket seats. My 1978 Kawasaki 650/4 got a Kawasaki LTD seat from the get go. I liked that one a lot.
Then it was mostly Mustangs. When I got into :spyder2::ani29:'s, it was Corbin and now BRP Comfort. Neither one is the "perfect" seat, but I consider them the "lesser of evils." I have found the OEM to be a too soft torture type of seat for me--IMO of course.
My quest for aftermarket seats and if there is another :spyder2: in my future, I will test out the OEM before making any additional changes. You would think that for a $30K neighborhood, the darn thing would come with a good seat--so far--NOT. My opinion again. :thumbup:

Sounds like a call to me.
Have a bony ass not a lot of meat on the cheeks. Spent 750.00 on ultimate not bad but can feel it after about 120 miles

Shortly I'm going to find out how the BRP Comfort seat feels. I've got a used one coming. The seat on my 2013 RT worked OK for me, but the 2014 stock seat driver seat part is shorter, I'm sure. It just doesn't feel quite right, like it wants to push me a bit too far forward. Almost doesn't make sense since I'm only 5' 8" with 29" inseam. Maybe it's a fat butt that's the problem. I'm about 210 with a rotund belly!
