• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there any way to tell if 2021 RTL needs a Software update?

Hi I just purchased a 2021 Spyder RTL. My question to the group is there a way to tell if the bike has current software or does it even get software updates?

Like most other computerized things, updates can apply to certain vin numbers only. IF a software/firmware update is required by your bike, it would show up when connected to, and be installed by, BUDS2.

I check for software updates for my 2024 Spyder by having it connect to my home wireless internet.

It's in the Operators Guide in the section on the Preferences applet.

That wifi connection bit only applies to the 2024 models.

I bought a used 21 RTL from a private party. 4K miles, had all the dealer service records. 10K miles later, last July, was on my way to the 3-wheeler rally in Deadwood. Was doing secondary roads and was on the 191 in Utah. 10 miles north of Vernal, it flat out died. I did not realize how lucky I was for this to happen 10 miles from one of 2 dealers in Utah. Owner of the shop picked me up and got me right in. It appears I needed a software update. I had no clue, but never thought it would just die with no warning. Now has 21K and is doing fine. I would consider taking it in. Mine also had a recall I was unaware of. Good luck with the bike!
