• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there any way to read BUDS with an ODB2 device?

Is there any way to read BUDS output with an OBD2 device?

I see crossover cables available, but I doubt it could be that simple.

Does BUDS read CAN bus or is it proprietary?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I didn't find the threads when I searched the site.

Thanks

Zombie -- if you have a CANBUS sniffer you can read the messages of the eleven nodes and if you search this forum you will find the decoding for some of them. Regarding OBDII content, BRP/Bosch chose the proprietary series, which is allowed for some classes of vehicles, rather than the standard series. Search is your friend and Wikipedia is informative.

Yea, I saw some of the schematics.. way above my skill levels.

The guy who invents and OBD2 to BUDS at a reasonable price will make a fortune!
