• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there an answer for my challenge???

I am looking for answers to that very question

Just curious....if traveling and have a Spyder problem...the out of town dealer does not have access to history of your Spyder? I thought the computer system BUDS would be available to any dealer with BUDS

Will let you know what I find starting to make phone calls now...

Well one piece of the puzzle answered..

[h=2]Answer to WHY BUDS report not in system[/h]
I will also post this under my "challenges" post. But thought you might like to know. The issue: My former dealer literally closed 2 hours after I was in and had BUDS run to try and pinpoint my Spyder's issues. Had to find new dealer. Did just that with a highly recommended dealer. They could not get my Spyder to throw the multiple codes that it showed when at Spokane dealership. The answer to where are those BUD reports? Because understandably BRP will not authorize warranty work without that information.

I discovered with multiple phone calls that apparently (no proof but STRONG hints) that dealership "scrubbed" their laptop/BUD system .. and because I was the last person who had my Spyder connected to their laptops...all my information literally went down the proverbial drain.

So the search for solution goes on and on and on...it is out there and it will eventually appear. Thanks to all of you...

I just got a reply from my service manager friend and the data is on the dealers laptop and is not saved to BRP. Any warranty work and campains would be able to be retrieved from BRP.

ive had 53 motorcycles and ill alwas go with what the xperts say so listen to scotty and cowtown, they got the right answers, the people that have the most time as a mec, knows best.do what they said and you will be riding agin soon.:2thumbs::chat:

great idea BUT

I know your records are gone and that there is some indication of the root of the problem but since your Spyder doesn't know where it is, why not just pack your phone and go absolutely nowhere for a day.
Ride around the block, go to the zoo.
Take it on some four laners just to build up some bad codes in the beast.

I am in Chelan..Spyder in Enumclaw at dealership...4 hrs away.....but never know I might get the right hand twitch put out my thumb and hitch over to "her"...:roflblack::thumbup:

Thanks for suggestion but unfortunately

Hi this is Brian, our Master Tech here at Cowtown Usa says the problem sounds like the barometric pressure sensor lines. Most likely the front hose is cracked......this will duplicate the exact symptoms you are describing........ hope this helps youn's :clap:

Hi Brian...thanks so much for the info from Kevin...Clem's called and they checked that post haste and my spyder's barometric pressure sensor lines were aok....sure would have been great but hey this is how we solve the problem...just like eating an elephant 1 bite at a time and eventually success...thanks again.
Clem's also has Scotty's and Jim's suggestions and are open to them. Good Sign. They do agree with me that "she/spyder" runs like "crap".....

When I was having trouble with my R-T as soon as buds were run a report was sent to BRP. Don't know why yours weren't but I would talk to BRP service ( carlous ) is someone I herd was very good at getting to the bottom Hope this helps Pete:gaah:

BRP is so messing with the wrong person over these issues.

Hang in there Murphy. You are already using the right methods to get the problem solved. Just keep giving everyone involved all the rope they need.

There has been some good advice given, and I note your acknowledgement of it.

You should be having some contact with BRP by now. I am hoping they don't drop the ball on this one.

I know you will keep us informed as to what is happening.

Karyl, I'm sure Clem's will take care of you. There isn't a better dealership on the west coast. Give them some time and they will prevail! Soemetimes these things can be very elusive. A combination of factors can make even a good tech go nuts trying to find the answer. They will get you back on the road.

on the last day of Spyderfest, as I was heading down to the vendor village, my RT went into Check Engine mode

I slowly made my way back up to PitBull and had one of the BRP reps take my bike back into the service area and check things out

he said my bike wasnt showing any error codes but he said he suspected the O2 sensor - he loaded the new software onto my bike and everything has been fine ever since

that was about 6000 miles ago

Update information

Wanted to keep you folks informed about how things are moving along.
I tried to get a response from the BRP rep (Steve) here on Spyderlovers. NADA
Sent email to BRP..immediate response. Today BRP sent me the following:
The head BRP tech will be calling the dealer in Enumclaw to work with them to get solution to my issues. (what does that mean/look like? Don't know but sure I will be finding out.. and will let you all know. ) Also the email said no way to retrieve the BUDS report that old (now closed) dealer did not "forward". So that issue has been checked off my find solution list. Can't turn that around.

FYI it was also recommended that if BRP didn't get back to me to post on their site on FACEBOOK...apparently they respond quickly to that media.

I am definitely getting a twitchy right hand..BUT just have to be patient :yikes:.

Have an awesome America's Birthday and ponder what it REALLY MEANS.

Blessings all..America still rocks..

Thank you for the update. I was thinking about your situation earlier this AM and wondering when we would hear back.

Hang in there, and  to them getting your problem solved quickly and completely. You have been very patient considering being held hostage over something that a dealer did wrong. Based on what we hear, the new dealer has a very good reputation.
