• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a simple way to make Front Turn signals into running lights?

Not a simple way...... the turn signals that also function as running lights or tail lights have a different bulb and bulb base. The turn signal only bulbs only have one element in the bulb and usually ground on the sides of the socket with a single contact point on the bottom for power. The type of bulbs which function as running lights and turn signals have two separate lighting filaments inside the bulb and two contact points on the bottom of the bulbs to match the two separate contact points in the bulb base. The running light filament is lower intensity element that stays on all the time. The turn signal elements are much brighter so that they will show up over and above the constant glow of the running lights.
This is a single filament that requires a socket with only one contact on the old 12 Volt incandecent style;

This is a dual filament and it requires a socket with 2 contact points on the old 12 Volt incandecent style;.

Notice different contacts on the bottom of the bulbs which will require completly different bulb sockets. If you have incandecent turn signals, you probably have the single element type socket. You would need to change out the entire bulb socket for a dual element type socket and add some wiring from the tail light circuit (or some other light circuit which stays on all the time like side markers) to power the dimmer filament of the dual element bulbs.

In the case of LED bulbs, there will still need to be some provision for a steady dimmer light and a relay to begin and end a much brighter light to act as the turn signals. There are many ways to accomplish this with LED and none of them are really simple.

The simplest way to accomplish what you want to do is to just add some aux running lights to the front end that are wired into the tail/side marker light circuit. You will need to be sure the additional lights don't overload the existing circuit.

Is there a simple way to make front turn signals into running lights also on a 2011 RT?
There is something else you may wish to consider when doing jobs like this. The heat from incandescent bulbs is quite considerable. Make sure that there is enough room in the light so that the air can expand and take the heat away from the bulb without melting or distorting the lens. This happened to me on my previous Gold Wing.
