• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is there a pattern to this stupid instruction card?

instruction card

Hey Ruralgirl, ride that RT to Kalamazoo in June and get it squared away. See, my post on laser alignments

Replace it with a more useful message...

helpful hint, dont get ready to ride (helmet & gear)till after you turned the key on:2thumbs: that will give the system time to boot with you not waiting on it:gaah:.

:roflblack: THIS has gotten way out of hand; hasn't it? :D

I assumed the OP was for fun, anyway, Bob. And I can't think of anything clever to say about it that hasn't already been offered.

I haven't read that card except for 3 times, ur problem might be not holding the mod button down for about 4 sec & holding the foot brake downbefore hitting start button

Though you must have the brake pedal engaged to start it, I never hold the mode button that long . . just enough to make the screen change.

i took the card out once on my RT and it has zero useful info. At least the old RS one had the recommended tire pressures on it. I dont hold the mode button either just one firm press is all it takes, however its stupid you have to push it in the first place. I think the manual says you have 3 minutes when you shut it off to turn back on without the start up and mode button press. Let us know what one of these responses has solved your problem ;)

I agree, turn the key on before you put your helmet on and the spyder will be ready when you are.

OK.... LMAO! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

This entire thread just made me spew coffee all over my PC monitor!

Yes there is a pattern,
As you drive your Spyder it begins to trust you more and more.
Then you do something it doesn't think is safe or offends it sensibilities in other ways.
Then, you are back to reading the card.

You just vocalized my worst fears

... then lick the windshield at least three times ...:roflblack::joke:

Tried that, but my tongue got caught at the bottom of the windshield as I lowered it all the way. Accidentally turned off the key while my tongue was still stuck, then had to wait while Card made me read it before I could reboot and raise the windshield.

Well you can escape computers, but only if you choose to opt out of life one way or another!! :yikes:

And seriously, if you can't ride & hafta move so far into the sticks that you can be totally off the grid & have no choice but to be fully self sufficient, would you really want to live like that?!? :gaah:

Uhhh, yeah. But you're admittedly looking at a throwback - I've never owned a cell phone, our homestead is self-sufficient during our frequent power outages, I raise and can our veggies for the year, our hens provide our protein, I can hook my horse to cart should petrol be seriously rationed, and, well, you get the picture. I love my electricity and indoor plumbing, for sure, but if the choice was full computerization of my life, or zero, I'd opt for the real world, which is zero. Computers don't grow crops, and gas powered vehicles (and washing machines, etc) don't have to have computers.

I don't need to read no stinking card and I cut off all the tags off my pillows. Sue me!
I do sacrifice a few bugs on the alter of my windshield from time to time though.
