• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the base F3 the sportiest model?

:oldpost: And the thread originator is no longer on the Forum (hence the greyed out username! ;) )

It ALWAYS pays to check the date on the first post in any thread; and even if you don't bother to read thru it all; AT LEAST check the last few posts AND THE DATES on the last few posts in the thread before replying.

My F3S is plenty quick, and the acceleration is addicting. I have a Baldwin Iron Works cat delete using the stock exhaust can, and a PedalBox set at Sport III and I will say it is very sporty. I like the fact that it has a Sport mode, a larger instrument panel, cruise, and the rear cowl with storage if you don't use the pillion seat. I ride 100% solo. I haven't found a Spyder or Ryker rider yet who can hang with me in the twisty's. It gets lots of attention from all riders, Cruisers or Sport bikes.

Now that I have the Quatracs up front and an Altima rear tire it even rides better. Plans are to get a BajaRon swaybar, and that's it as far as suspension upgrades. I'm not even sure if that will make a huge difference or not. Everybody says they do, but I really can't imagine it'll make a big difference in how well I can corner. I believe I'm already at my limit as far as to how fast I want to go.

I love the look of my F3S over any of the other Spyders. If I toured it would be different. I do have the Shad bags which are great, and I feel they actually look good when mounted. They also come off very quickly.

It's all a personal choice of course, but the F3S does it for me.

I would say that you are on the right path. Make a couple of mods and you will be right at home on the F3-S.

If you were coming off a 750 or liter bike, then I would say you'll be disappointed. Neither the Spyder nor Ryker in any of the variants are truly "sporty" when compared to most sport bikes.
