There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Is that whining noise the belt?

I've hear a whining noise while slowing down from 30mph - 0 pretty much since I've owned the Spyder for a year now. I tightened the belt slightly to 200lbs on the kricket and it went away for a while and now its back again, I have 7000 miles on it with no issues so I am guessing this is just normal noise coming from the belt?

I too notice this noise. I noticed it when I first picked it up from the dealer, and when I took it in for its first 600 mile service, I told them about the noise.

After the service, they claimed they fixed it, and upon leaving the dealership I still heard it. I left that day for a 3000 mile ride, and it is louder than ever. It is almost embarrassing when in town slowing down next to vehicles because its so loud.

I talked to someone who had the similar problem, and he said his dealership loosened the belt tension, and he hasnt had a problem since. Im not confident enough to tinker with it myself, so when it goes back in for its next service, or next time I make it up to the dealership, I will mention loosening the belt.

Not sure if its going to fix the problem, but I dont know why the bike would be whinning that loud and it be "normal".

If you figure anything out be sure to let me know.

Thanks,
Dustin

My 08 GS has been making that noise [belt harmonics] over two years and 14 thousand miles,
I'Ve tried every which way to adjust the belt. I even broke down and let the dealer have a crack at it,
All it does is change where the sound come's on. Also when it gets real hot, like they say in Brooklyn it gets ''WORSTER''

Its nice to know someone else has the same problem....I bought that kricket tool and have progressively loosened the belt down to 185lbs and tightened it up to 230lbs and each time the sound goes away and then it comes back again. It starts to whine after you ride a few miles, so seems like it starts whining after the belt gets warm, I wonder if the belt is defective?

Mine does to I think its that long distance from the rear sprocket to the front. Lots of belt back lash.

I hear it too when she's not happy how I'm riding. I just tell her to stay home the next time. :roflblack:

don't forget to check the front sprocket bolt. if loose, the spline will wear and engine torque will angle the sprocket causing a host of weird noises.
