• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is it just me?

I don't visit Spydetlovers every day. When I do check the posts the most common subject seems to be the addition of a new 2014 RT owner. Is it just me or has there been an overwhelming response to the new RT? Does anyone have access to sales figures by year? I'd be interested in seeing that. In the four plus years I've been on Spyderlovers I can't remember the large volume of posts from new owners.

They definitely hit a home run with the 14 RT. They were a private company until last years so they did not have to release figures.

No figures..!!

but this site has also become more popular as well. Before the RT were bought in similar numbers but not reported here. You are also seeing more folks saying they have been looking in and have bought because of this site. Before most bought and then joined this site. Nonetheless sales have been good. I would like to see the sales when the RT was introduced and end of this production year for the RT...

I think the number of members is growing too - wonder what the percentage is by year of ownership. I have run in to a number of owners who have never logged on to Spyderlovers.....

I'm always surprised

When I cross paths with fellow Spyder Ryder and the vast majority have never even heard of Spyderlovers...so that goes to show how many more may be joining in... I sure promote this forum. Bestest folks in the world AND willingness to share knowledge :yikes:... Sometimes more info then my brain can process...that info I just print off and take to my dealer!!!!

I for one am sure glad I found you guys! I heard about the group from another Spyder rider on a memorial ride July 4th. Curiously enough, two of the dealerships I have dealt with had never heard of this.

I got directed here to get a question answered before I bought my Spyder. I lurked around for a while, liked the people, and just stayed. There are some great technical answers here, a great "wit", and a welcoming attitude that I find refreshing in a web site. I try to promote SpyderLovers anytime I meet another rider who doesn't know about us.

The national highway safety administration mentioned there were about 52,000 Spyders built to date. They did not break down the numbers by year.

that was thru 2013. I gotta believe that has grown dramatically, and will continue too with the new introduction this year! jmho!

I was wondering if someone was going to jump on this--hence my carefulness with mentioning statistics.

One boring bit, and I will shut up. 52,000/6 (2008, 2009, 2010,2011,2012, 2013) averages out to be 8667 spyders per year. Take into account lesser sales in the early years and more sales in the later years--we have an average number of spyders per year. Give 2014 an extra boost because of the popularity of the RT and add 10,000 for 2014 (just to be conservative). That will bring about 62,000 spyders out there total.

This is just a best guess and I will just leave it at that.
