• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Oh yeah..!!

from the lists I have seen... seen or not seen it's a farkel it's a mod...home made or store bought...gifted or worked for...so add it to your list and post to the thread " Who's got the most mods (farkels)"...

A 'Farkle' is anything added to your ride. It can be stock or aftermarket, seen or unseen, added before or after taking delivery. That is why attempting to live your life Farkle Free is FUTILE!

I have always considered farkles as being purely appearance accessories. I have little interest in such things. I put all my accessory money into either comfort, convenience or performance enhancers. There are, of course, many accessories which are both but I think we need words that differentiate between the two.

So you want to change the widely accepted meaning of a word. Good luck with that. :D

From the Urban Dictionary

farkle

accessory.

The word is generally accepted to mean a combination of "function" and "sparkle", hence, farkle.

Motorcycle enthusiasts may install accessories, called farkles (also spelled farkel), to customize their machine.
One source attributes the term to Pete Wells, the organizer of a 1997 Honda ST1100 rally

The term is well known in the sport touring community.

An enthusiast may be in the process of "farkling". The completed motorcycle would be all "farkled up". Radar detectors, Global Positioning System receivers, heated grips, and satellite radios are some of those farkles. Other accessories could be aftermarket seats, side and/or top cases or bar risers, which make the motorcycle more suitable for long miles.

F.A.R.K.L.E. -- Fancy Accessory Really Kool Likely Expensive

The first "official" definition you offer says the item has both sparkle (appearance properties) and functional properties. The acronym definition describes a farkle as being "fancy". It seems to me that the definitions you provide go along with what I thought - that is that farkles have appearance enhancing attributes.

Things are pretty slow when we stoop to the point of debating what 'Farkle' means....

I'm not even sure we can agree on how to spell it!

My thoughts exactly....Add to it What you named your spyder...really :yikes:

This is what happens when 3/4 of the spyder ryders are going through withdrawal because of the season / weather. When there is 6 feet of snow in NY in November and Alabama is colder than Alaska the average spyder enthusiast simply suffers brain farts on a massive scale.

The dark season must be endured..... the only hope we have for survival is Farkeling..... If this is taken away there will be an implosion that sucks the entire civilized world into the abyss.

Help me ... I'm suffering along with the rest of you.:gaah:

Hang in there. We will make it through this. Only 132 days until we reach March 31st. Spring may or may not be here by then. :roflblack::roflblack: :bbq::bbq::bbq:

My snow picture below was taken the 2nd week of May this year. :gaah:

Okay: a slight sidebar. It has stopped raining, the sun is breaking through the clouds, the temp is 40 degrees, and I am going for a ride on the nanner.

I am very thankful for the opportunity to get in another ride this late in the season.

You lucky.......... Spyder Rider!! :D :2thumbs:

Ride aborted. Road looked wet from my window, but was really glare ice. Rode out to the secondary road, (2.5 blocks) and that was also glare ice. Turned around very carefully and 5 mph back to park it.

We will see if the roads melt, but I am thinking not.:popcorn:
