There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Is Honda copying the Spyder?

I received an email from a local Honda dealer and it had these 2 pics included with the caption: Coming Soon. Is Honda copying the Spyder?

A trike kit--not a Honda offering as such. See the current issue of Rider magazine for a full page ad.

I like the Honda GW--A LOT. The version of the trike kit shown is maxing out the ugly meter for me. Not only no--but--heck no. :roflblack:

What they said....

A kit requiring you have a GW...expensive, ugly (jmo) and lacking many features on the spyder. But they are getting there. The motorcycle tire and rear end just kills it....

way back when, honda had the 3 wheeler, and many people were hurt and some died. so honda said it would never make another 3 wheeler again. so it is a kit, and voids all warranty's

If Honda made a factory made Spyder like Goldwing BRP would very soon end production of all Spyders. .... They could make it cheaper in the end. A Shaft drive (no belt vibration ) ,a 200,000 mile proven engine.

I do love my Spyder RTS, but that's just the facts. BRP owns too much of the concept patents for Honda to be able to kill off the Spyder.

My local Honda dealer says Honda does have their own two wheels in the front type trike in the works. It's based off their 1300 cc sport touring bike, and will tilt or lean. But those pics are of a rather old conversion kit that never really took off.

I'm with you there!! That conversion is taking what was a pretty good looking machine & getting it close to being as downright ugly as those Slingshots from Polaris!! :yikes:

my local dealer did not know anything of them however & were quite happy i got them looking. They seem to be only in Japan for now? There was a thread here when first unveiled at a bike show.

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS

I got to see one of these Hondas with the front wheels last weekend in Mountain View, not very appealing to me, but the guy who had it was a big GW person so he liked it.

I think you are in the ball park with your comments. A genuine Honda with the safety features and blings of the :ani29: RT Limited would probably give our company a run for their money. There would probably be a lot of early adapters. Me? Would depend on my health and finances.

" But those pics are of a rather old conversion kit that never really took off." Actually it is a MotorTrike conversion that is currently for sale. It is called the Prowler RT. They also have a wheels forward for the Honda CTX700 called the Hornet. Hannigan Motorsports also has a wheels forward conversion they are pushing pretty hard called HRT.

Yamaha also has a wheels forward trike also only for sale in Japan and the Piaggio is still available in Europe.

Hi pegasus1300,

Re: the Piaggio is still available in Europe.

Are they ever. I was in Paris back in June & they are everywhere.

This looks like it came out of a Transformers movie. The Japanese seem to really like that angular styling.
