iPOD question

Somewhere it was posted that only the Apple branded 30pin to lightning adapter will work. I have the latest Gen Touch and the Apple adapter and it works perfectly. I have the old style BRP cable for the Spyder so it charges the Touch too. I read somewhere that the newer BRP cables won't provide charging.

I have never heard of this before. If you feel it is true please give details. There is 2 different types of BRP Ipod cable. The older type has a box in the cable with some electronics in it. The newer cable is not compatible with the older Spyders. The newer cable like I have charges just fine.

I read it on the board here somewhere... but I have a 2011 and when researching since the cable didn't come with mine (bought used) I needed one. It could be that what I read was just in the context of the older bike and newer cable combo not providing charging to the ipod. It was a while ago and I dough I could find the specific thread again. I got the one with the box and it works perfect on my 2011 RTS.

I have the original ipod, and it works just fine.
