• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. iPhone4 / Can-Am comm helmet

Maybe this is impossible, but -- How do you (can you?) make the iPhone4 work through the Can-Am comm helmet system?

It seems to me that they said in tech school that the phone will work now through the BRP headsets if you run it through the integrated Garmin 660 GPS on the 2011 RT.

I've got the iPhone 4 going through my Garmin 660 (non BRP system) and a Scala Rider com, so I have to think the BRP system will work too.

Did they say anything in tech school about why the GPS sound comes out the front speakers when the external speakers are turned OFF or why the GPS sounds only work in the helmet when the external speakers are turned ON or why the GPS is backwards to every other audio device that is connected to the intergrated audio system?

Lamont,
Does that mean it doesn't work the same for the 2010 RTs? And if not, is there a BRP fix? I have a Nolan Trilogy helmet with Bluetooth and can only hear calls when paired to the Garmin.....not talk. I have to pair the helmet directly to my phone but in doing so I cannot dial only answer an incoming call when I hear it ring. It would be nice to be able to see who is calling, answer (or not), talk & dial a call thru the Garmin.

My understanding is they made a change in the 2011 harness that is not available for the 2010.

No

WHY NOT?
Seems like yet another example of BRP no fixing what we owners find and yet they incorporate it into their next production model. I'm not talking of BRP paying for an upgrade here but rather ensuring every system works as THEY advertised. For the money we owners shelled out, it had better be damn near perfect each and every time! And if not, make it so!!! :2thumbs:

Bottom line here is if it does not work as BRP / Garmin advertised it would, then BRP / Garmin needs to fix it so it does. WHY would BRP release one of their products knowing it does not work as advertised???
