iPhone Bluetooth question on an RT

I've been enjoying listening to Pandora while riding. I use the BRP harness to connect to my IPhone with the rectangular plug located in the trunk. This is what's got me baffled. If I plug in, turn everything on, I connect and I get sound out of the RT speakers, I can forward to next song, volume adjustment works, all is well. As soon as I turn on my Sena SMH10 I get sound in my helmet and loose the sound from the RT speakers. A 2010 RT is not Bluetooth compatible, how does it know I'm now connected to my Sena and how and why does the bikes sound system shut off. I want to have the choice to just turn down the Sena and still have sound from the bikes speakers. :dontknow:

Its not your sypder is the iPhone, once the iPhone connects via bluetooth to your helmet and sends the output of the sound via bluetooth it no longer sends the same sound out the connector at the bottom.

Agree. I think you will need to choose either Bluetooth streaming or a wired connection. The iPhone doesn't do both simultaneously.

There may be a solution though, but you will lose the ability to change songs from your handlebar controls.

I used a 3.5 mm splitter coming out of the the iPhone to connect two Bluetooth dongles so I could stream Bluetooth to both my and my wife's helmets (because only one Bluetooth connection at a time is allowed). But what this did for me was to connect two different Bluetooth devices to my phone via a wired splitter.

So,,, it would stand to reason that you could use the same splitter, purchase a Bluetooth dongle to connect to the splitter and send tunes to the helmet wirelessly. Then connect the other end to the spyder stereo via a 3.5mm cable. As I mentioned, you will have volume control, but not song choice. Oh, and shut off the Bluetooth on the iPhone while using this config to prevent conflicts.
