• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Intermittent Music

Had mine cut out just once and came back on in ten minutes or so, reason unknown.

I ad the harness that hooked the IPod lplug up to the radio go bad in my 2010...
What if that developed a couple of bare spots in the wires? Could that shut down the enitre system? :dontknow:

Intermiten Music

I had the same problem on my 2011 RT-S. The dealer changed the left side controls and the wiring down to the main harness. Its worked fine ever since. Hope you get it fixed, it sucks when your favorite song is on and it keeps shutting off. Russ:yes::yes:

Do you have the GPS harness or phone harness installed?

Reason I ask is since installing that myself and when it is not connected to the GPS, static can cause the radio to go out for a few seconds.
When it's hooked to the GPS it wont do that. Basically the dead wire is acting like an EME antenna!

I never had this issue myself until installing the GPS cable. When I am cleaning my spyder or wiping the Tupperware anywhere near the dash area, the static build up causes a cut out for 2 seconds or so. The Tupperware can produce a large static charge due to it being all plastic. Kind of like rubbing a balloon on your hair. When enough charge builds up it's got to go somewhere and when it discharges to the frame or something inside, the radio cuts out.

Never had the issue riding, only when parked and rubbing the spyder ;)
And again I never had this issue until installing the GPS cable which runs up to the handlebars!

2012 RT-S radio problems

I am having the same problem with my radio. I do have the GPS harness which I do not have the GPS installed at this time. My radio cuts out and does not come on in either the AM or FM side. I also notice the up, down, right and left arrow buttons do not function well. I can not scan through the stations in either mode. All I hear in the speakers in a popping sound about four or five pops and then about 10 to 15 seconds of silence the the pops start over. Haven't had the problem before just started acting up this week end. Have just over 1000 miles on the spyder. The dealer I purchased it from, 2 hours away, said to contact spyder lovers first. Any thoughts or help?

same here

I had the bluetooth phone hookup put in, which required the entertainment harness, after i bought it new in 2012, next year they had the Sena dongle out so BRP gave me a good price on it at the OE in Maggie Valley, but on the way home my antenna broke putting my cover on at the motel. Replaced it with a wally world rubber dealy, but sporadically music cuts out, never for very long. Makes me think it might be a ground problem. I did make sure to hook the ground wire on the antenna base so i don't think that's it. Don't think it matters if i have the radio or my ipod on.
I also have the garmin 665 installed. Haven't had the time to troubleshoot it, can't make it do it long enough. If it's going to go out, hope it does so before my extended warranty is up....2.5 years left supposedly...
Just turned 30k miles on it. Next project is a new back tire and rear bearings figure i'll put a new belt on while i've got it up in the air.
