• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Now you can easily remove rust from metals using a laser. This method leaves a clean and weldable or paint able surface.

Oooh yeah, I want one of those. Cant seem to find the price for one. Im guessing $$$$$$.

Rust particales/vapor

Looks cool, sounds like Flash Gordon. But where does the rust go? I saw nothing comming off the precesss. I doubt it's converting the rust to iron and O2 gas (maybe it is though). If not, there would have to be a very good extraction system.

It appears that there is no danger of damaging the piece that you are removing the rust from, as is possible with sandblasting.

Hi Bob,

Re: That thing looks as if it might work pretty well for tattoo removals also...

The fastest tattoo removal system is asphalt.

Very Neat...

But I will have to stick with my sand blaster. Have too many tools as it is but that would be nice. it is really fast...

:yikes::yikes: I hope you're talkin' bout the rust removal of the thread subject, & not the tattoo removal of the posts immediately prior/above your post!! :yikes::yikes:

The mind boggles at the thought of sand-blasting tattoo's to get 'em off, altho I guess it's probly no worse than purposefully choosing the asphalt method!!

My daughter is a tattoo artist and says now the way is laser...she recommends it to many clients that want her work and a cover up won't work. ..I have removed a layer or two of skin with the sand blaster (by mistake ) and don't wish it on anyone...

Agree, but that is a hefty chunk of iron. I do like how it got to the nooks & hard to reach areas with ease. Could be really handy on my great granddads antiques tools
