• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

intercom/communications

:hun: As the proud new owner of a 2011 RT-S, I'm looking for some advice on intercom/communication systems. I want to be able to listen to the RT's stereo and communicate with my passenger - don't care about bluetooth (don't want to and shouldn't be on the phone while ryding anyway) or bike to bike capability. Also important to have a mute button (sometimes my passenger talks to much LOL) We both wear flip-up full face helmets and would rather not replace helmets if we don't need to. Any experienced advice out there in Spyderland will be appreciated.

I have a 11 RTS as well. When I ordered it I told the dealer I wanted what you said you wanted (except that I also wanted a CB). My RTS is setup with the headset connectors for rider and passenger (like a Wing) and I use the intercom built into the bike. Someone here will be able to tell you if that is part of the CB package or not. Yes you can turn the volume down so that mikes do not activate when you speak into them....lol. Oh, I use the same helmets with the J&M headset and cords that I used on my Victory Vision. The lower cord is different than a Wing, but the Victory cord and the CAN-AM cords are the same connector wise.

Thanks for the info guys. My decision is still pending. I'll post what I decide on and how well it's working out.

as of 4/7/11 my RTS SE5 has the BRP communication system with fip-up helmets. The headset set is J & M. It is working just fine except for a beep when I change gears and it transmit a little long after I release the talk button.
The great thing is that I can communicate with my hubby on his wing.

Happy :spyder2: owner!!!

My wife and I are looking into getting an "Autocom" unit installed on her new Syder RT Limited. We don't want the CB option because of short range limits, but are thinking FMR/GMRS radios for communication between Spyder and my Wing. Anyone have any other ideas or options?
