There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Insurance for new Spyder

I see a lot of low ball quotes. The only way to compare is to look at total coverage. How much deductible, how much replacement cost ,etc. I pay the better part of a G note and we don't have a whole lot of companies to select from.:dontknow:

Yes. I say this a lot in these threads but premiums are useless without also talking coverage and location. The best State Farm here in NC would do is $80/month on my new RS-S. I'm looking elsewhere...but if I match coverage others are cheaper but not as cheap as many here have. I can cut things down and get it to $300/yr...but of course risk goes up.

You are correct. My $219/yr w/ Geico is for 100k/300k/50k liability, $250 ded f/ comprehensive, and $500 ded for collision. No towing, that's covered by my GWRRA membership.

I was just looking at your travel map. With all the states and provinces you have been to, how could you not have come to Idaho? You don't know what you're missing!:D:D[/QUOTE

Been asked that question several times. We were traveling up from California and had planned to go from Washington to Idaho but decided to drive up to Canada. We loved the Rockies and instead of coming back south went on to Banff and Jasper, Alberta and then down from Medicine Hat to Cutbank, Montana and we missed Idaho altogether. We'll make it there one of these days.

That's what I'm talking about.

Everyone on here must be lying or they are 85 years old and never had a ticket in there life and their bike isn't financed....and they're sleeping w/ the insurance agent. LOL

Snoop:

My new Allstate policy shows the annual net rate of $171.69 for each Spyder RT with $100,000 liability per person, $300,000 per accident, $100,000 PD and $5,000 medical payments. Plus uninsured motorists coverage, $500 deductible collision, $200 deductible comprehensive and add on coverage for our trailers.

We both have clean driving records for the past five years and the Spyders are paid for. We're both in our mid seventies and if we were a bit younger the premium would be lower.

The deductions noted are for Mutliple policies held (home and cars), Antilock brakes, payment on an annual basis and Good rider discount. Those discounts add up to $370.52 per Spyder.

PS: My gorgeous young Allstate agent is worth pursuing per the suggestion in your post

Man that is very similar to my policy except my Spyder is financed and I assume I'm younger than you. Big difference though?

How long have you had motorcycle insurance? This is my first year and may be part of it. But mine is about $850/year which is quite a difference.

Ive been told also that since I'm in a military area/town that motorcycle insurance is much higher. :dontknow:

I'm definitely doing something different when my policy is close to renew time.

My wife and I insured our first motorcycles in 1974 so we've been riding for 40 years... that could make a big difference on rate. The military thing is also a big deal. Two of our boys served in the military and when they moved their insurance from where we lived (Tennessee at that time) to their bases in Florida and Virginia the rates on their motorcycles nearly doubled. The risk of having an accident around military base towns is pretty high.

With three sons and a daughter who all rode motorcycles our place looked like a dealership at times with all the machines parked everywhere.

Looks like I need to move. :banghead:

I've been accused of owning a used car lot w all the cars around here. Lol

Bill,
You've got less than six Months on that Motorcycle endorsement; the ink isn't even dry on it yet...
Virginia Beach could very well be affecting your rates also... Although I'd be reluctant to blame the military for it! :D

It takes a clean driving record, and a loss-free insurance record for years, in order to start getting the best rates...
Patience... Grasshopper!

I think my clean auto insurance record for 30 years should count for something :banghead:

Well; there's actually an honest to goodness SERIOUS discussion about insurance costs and coverages...
And you want to pee in the pool with RADAR DETECTORS??? :gaah:

This time I have to side with Snoopy. I believe he made that comment when someone brought up the fact that they've had a number of speeding tickets, causing their insurance rates to go up.

I typically save my speeding for the NYS Thruway where NYS Troopers patrol, and I can use my NYS Trooper family card, like I did a few weeks ago when being stopped for speeding.

My spyder insurance actually dropped a dollar/ month, down to $17 with State Farm. That dropped happened about a month ago.

Wylie,
You and I agree in here, way more than we've ever disagreed... :D
But a discussion of driving rates is a valid one, when discussing insurance cost.
Idly wondering about radar detector ownership really isn't... That fits into another discussion about avoiding speeding tickets.
And you need to invite Firefly to the table for that one! :D

Insurance on 2013 RT Limited

I have Geico and my prem. is $406 per yr. Most of you never told us your deductible. Mine is $250 for comp. and collision. I also get another discount for winter layup.

Insurance Quotes

When you tell them you have a Radar detector they usually will either not quote you or hike the prem. because they feel you can speed with using one. :banghead:

Nope...
The motorcycle insurers are looking for experienced riders; not just safe drivers... :gaah:
Take an MSF course... That'll save you some coin...
