• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

previous owner cracked the instrument cluster (speedo, tach, fuel gauge etc) lens. Is it possible to replace just the lens that covers the electronics ? if so could you point me in the right direction to solve this before the dreaded h2o finds its way into the electronics.

Yes..!!

Cheapcycleparts.com has the lens for $16.99. Don't know about the dealers but probably a lot more.

It looks like they got you covered with a part number and how to look up parts in the future. I don't think cheapcycleparts.com can ship BRP parts outside the US. They certainly will not ship to Canada.

might be another problem also we use kilometers instead of miles. Ive approach a dealer here see what they say.
I did go to brp site but for the life of me couldn't find the right fiche.
just one last q is the total distance covered recorded in that module or is stored in the main computer and retrieved by that module when powered up ?
Thanks to all that replied

I believe that the mileage total is kept in the cluster. If you change the cluster the mileage starts @ 0

When I had my 09 which has the same gage cluster as you, when I crossed into the US I changed mine to miles. When I crossed back into Canada I change it back to kilometers. It take 30 seconds. The instructions are in the manual I believe.
Here is the picture of the fiche.

Item 14 is the lens and it comes with a new gasket.
If you have change out the gage cluster the total mileage is lost and you start over. Why is that a concern? According to your first post the gage cluster is OK, it was just the lens.

All the gage clusters are the same. There is no special one for the US. When you change from kilometers to mile the analog gage changes how it reads as well. Hence the constant whining from the US folks on why does their speedometer go to 200 mph. ;)

:yikes: explains a lot.

Bumping old thread, i have a similar issue. Not that the lens is cracked but seems to have some kind of maybe condensation stain on the inside. If i order a new one how hard or how many pieces of body work and other crap will i have to take off to put this in?

Thanks!
