Installing Rear view/backup camera - what wire & where to trigger it?

Since the new for 2025 rear view camera that will be on the Sea to Sky RT (and Canyon I'm told) will not be available for retrofit to the 2024 RT, I am considering installing my own. I'm not too crazy about disassembling the back half of the Spyder just to access the reverse light wire needed to activate the camera. Does anyone know the wire color and if It might be found under the passenger seat, or maybe even at the reverse gear actuator (if there is such a thing).

Rather than mess with the bikes' wiring, why not consider installing a system such as the Innovv N1Pro? This is a dashcam system that also gives you Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, AND can be used as a rearview camera display. I've installed this system on a 2021 F3L, and it works very well straight out of the box.

I use an Innovv dash cam on my Spyder. The cameras on the above link seem to be the same 1080p cam I have on the rear of my Spyder (2K front cam). I am quite happy with the video quality it provides. Innovv used a Spyder for one of their images showing the screen mounted, I thought that was cool. :p

That system looks super tempting as it appears to do so much more than be a camera, and it would be a proper workaround for the TERRIBLE BRP Go garbage!

Any details on your installation or pictures would be appreciated. Thank you.

Here's the Innovv N1 Pro on a 2021 F3. I only captured the startup screen to protect the owners' privacy, but it is a full Apple Car Play and Android Auto unit, plus dashcam that can be used as a backup camera.

I got excited when I read of this in this thread. I watched several reviews on YouTube and although it seems to be a solid unit (like most INNOVV products) I was left thinking that the execution of the GUI and controls are lacking. I don't think you can adjust the screen brightness easily, and there is no auto mode for screen brightness. You have limited control or features for the camera and there is no app to access files or change any settings. Speaking of settings, there aren't many. The main display has provisions for a TPM system they sell...but its only compatible for two wheeled vehicles. You also cannot remove the display from the main screen if you don't have the optional sensors; at least from what I saw.

The camera footage shown was not as good as my Innovv K6 rear camera, but that may just be how it was converted or uploaded. For the price I was expecting more bells and whistles but as a basic car play or android auto that happens to have a camera, its a sold build, but not at that list price.

Back up camera: I have a 24 RT and the dealer installed it the other day. They ran into a problem when doing this because I had a Show Chrome electronic fuse block with OEM connectors.
They had to unplug the Show Chrome accessory to allow the back up camera to work.
I contacted Big Bike Parts and they shipped me a Plug N’ Play Connector Harness 41-265WI at no charge after I told them what was happening.
I plugged this harness in and it worked with my back up camera.
I took the wires out of the 41-265WI and transferred them to the empty slots in the old harness and then plugged it back in. Camera worked!
So two things, 24 RT Limiteds can be retrofitted with the Cam-Am stock camera and you can modify the Show Chrome accessory wiring harness to allow the camera to function properly.

and think cautiously when picking a dealer to augment electronics/wiring on your Can-Am

I'm not sure I have the same accessories, but maybe you can advise me. My Spyder is a '24 RTL. I installed the Show Chrome LED Trunk lights and used their plug and play harness (SM-20068). After the dealer installed my back up camera, I had a blue screen when in reverse until I unplugged the SlingMods wiring harness and disconnected the trunk lights. I looked at the Big Bike Parts plug and play harness you mentioned (41-265WI) and it appears to be the same as the harness I have.
So, what am I missing? I'm not sure how you transferred the wires out of your harness and plugged them into empty slots on the OEM harness to get the camera to work. My guess is I will not be the only one who runs into this issue, so if you can provide some insight, I would greatly appreciate it.

Could someone who has a 2025 Spyder RT (Limited or S2S) post a picture of the rear fender showing where the backup camera hole is? It does not have to have the camera installed, just show where the blank is for the camera on the rear fender. It could be a 2024 that has had the rear fender replaced with a 2025 one as well. Just trying to see location.

I am considering installing a camera on my 2024, and debating an aftermarket small flush mount one mounted in the same location as the 2025 camera... that would save the $230 cost of replacing the read fender. The dealers in my local area only have 2024's on the floor, so I have not been able to see one for the approximate camera location. The parts diagram on the Can Am site is too coarse to really show the specific location.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I don't know for sure but I don't think you have to replace the whole fender. Just a small bracket to install. Someone will tell you for sure soon what you need to install a camera.

Thanks for the reply. I am considering using a flush mount aftermarket camera vice the Can Am camera that requires a new fender. A couple of people have verified aftermarket cameras work, and at a fraction of the cost. The issue becomes their mounting location. The flush mounts are about as big around as a nickel, you drill a hole in the fender, and slide them in. Done right, it would look stock to anyone looking, and total cost may be $45 vice the nearly $500 for the Can Am version (if done yourself). I just need to know where the hole is in the new fender to know where there is room for a camera. Worst case, I drill a hole, it does not work right, and I have to replace the fender... then I have just lost $45, camera cost, and a couple of hours.

Here's a link to Smoaks vlog video that shows the 2025 Spyder RT Sea to Sky reverse camera port. Go to minute mark 3:25, camera port shows at 3:34.

I purchased a Carpuride 712D just as an inexpensive introduction to the Carplay/Camera unit tech, especially with the $50 off coupon and I'm actually quite happy with it
I have a Carpuride 702 on order, but to make up for the lack of phone mirroring on a 2024 motorcycle. I know the Can Am does plugged Carplay, but where is wireless AA? Hoping to get a camera that is integrated to the core bike though, in case BRP ever gets into the 2020s with their system. Was amazed looking at trikes, Can Am the challange with Android Auto, Harleys can't even communicate with a headset anymore, and Goldwings that are super nice but OMG expensive. The Can Am is a good buy for the money, not meaning to be super critical, but wish they did better with the sound system. I had a 2018 though, at least the BRP (wont) connect is gone.
