• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installed my Madstad windshield

I wont repeat what others have said about the install and subsequent adjustments. Very easy install, infinite adjustments that take some playing around and riding to test.
Not a Madstad issue but rather a Can-Am issue - when installing the base plate for the windshield (replacing the dealer installed windshield) I snapped one of the screws. So off to Home Depot metric screw section. No problem finding replacements but who'd of thot the originals were PLASTIC.:( The guy at HD asked if they were from a sewing machine (?) - don't know where he got that idea. So replaced both top ones with stainless, but, dummy that I am, didn't bring the lower ones along to get replacements for them.:opps:
Anyone know why the top ones are Philips head and the lower ones Torx?
Well, it's always fun visiting Home Depot. :D

When I changed from OME to ultra-touring I found out the top are plastic and the bottom ones are metal, that's why top's are phillips and bottom torx, but why plastic ? don't know unless to give a little flexibility ?:dontknow:

Well, all four of mine are now stainless Philips head - being a retired, anal, accountant, I couldn't stand that 2 looked one way and the 2 another. Oh, and yes, the crosses on the screws are lined up properly.

My '08 were all metal torx screws. Maybe they made the top ones plastic to breakaway in case you hit the windshield in an accident.:dontknow:

It is my belief that the plastic screws are a safety feature, to allow the windshield to snap instead of impaling you if you hit something and are launched forward. Speaking of safety features, have you pulled out your safety card and read it lately? :D
