There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Installed glow light caps. Seem ok so far. Look ok as well.

Installed the glow light wheel kit I purchased. Installation was interesting, and not the way I would have designed it. They look ok, and work as well for the first ride.

Is this the Glow-Ryder kit?

If not, got pics and specs. Doesn't do us much good if we can't see it.....;)

:chat: How was the install? Interesting .Does that mean hard, easy. The Glo-Rider lights from the dealer on this site are supposed to be an easy install ? Are they the Glo-Rider lights that mount on the front hubs ? Need pics.:dontknow: How are you liking your :spyder2: so far Nater1 ?

Yes these are glowrider billet white lights from site vendor

I feel the billet light assemble looks ok, and at night do the job I attended them to do which was to provide the bike some side attention getter to help other drivers be aware of my presents. They look nice also by making the rims glow.

I feel the installation design could be refined when it comes to the hub insert. I tossed their to the side, and fab up my own for personnel reasons.

I would rate this product at this time, and only having them on for 300 miles with to night time cycles as a 8 out of ten. I deducted points for the installation bracket.;) I know I will get the beat down by some here just like when I comment about the the BUDS issue.

I live in Janesville Wisconsin, and I appear to be the undocumented BRP marketing representative. If anyone has any pull at BRP I would be willing to take a BUDS software package, and tool for my efforts.

GloRyder wheel lights

We got the 1st set for the spyder,Kurt used our Spyder to fab the wheel insert that holds the GloRyder billet on. 1500 miles later, no problems, no adjustments, original batteries, no problems unless you call the extreme attention that they get a problem.:2thumbs:

Nater1, Just wanted to jump in here as you were one of the first to receive a fastening system that we created to simplify installation to the Spyder wheel. I am just curious why you did not like it.

For those of you who have not seen the two fastening systems the picture below shaped like a ring is the original patented design (for Cars) we modified for the Spyder. The second picture, with the expanding "half moons" is the new design we simplified for Spyders. (Which is patent pending BTW, sorry, have to say that :), legal stuff)

The first kit is designed as a universal ring lock to fit the nearly infinite variety of centerbore sizes for car wheels. It requires using an allen wrench to secure a total of 3 screws per wheel, and can be a little tedious but is very strong and secure.

We found that since Spyder has one constant centerbore size we could adapt a simple expansion device with one thread tightened by a wrench. The "half moon" is tapped to accept the GloRyder and self centering and literally installs in minutes. This is a very secure, solid, and simple installation for Spyder's one I wish we could use for cars but, as mentioned, the variety of center bore holes precludes this. I have included the new manual for folks to see the installation of the expansion lock. (due to the file size limitation you may need to click on it save it and zoom it to read it.)

I was also hoping we would hear good reports about how simple this new system was to install and I have to say I am surprised to hear you were dissatisfied. I guess I would like to see what you came up with instead.

PS We have also talked with Lamont about a simple plug that is tapped that you knock into the center bore and attach the GloRyder to, and we have made a number of prototypes and they work fine but they are a very precision dependent installation, so we are refining the design until we feel comfortable with it.

I recently brought a set of GloRyders for my spyder, my setup did not come with the half moon installation kit which seem much easier. Was this due to a packing error or timing?

Just to explain

The glow lights themselves where just fine, and appear to engineered good.

The installation bracket was not ideal. This is what I did and recommend you do is for your product. I cut two 1/8" thick circle inserts out. Next I cut them apart with one section a little off center of each(one half larger than the other). Then I placed the two large sections in a mill vise, so I could cut dove tails on the intersecting edges. This seem to bind the caps in the center of the rim nicely, and makes it a slap for the future.

I am just give it constructive criticism if you are reading this clearly.

I would encourage others to purchase this product as well, and feel it is a nice safety item .welcome

I do with BRP would have designed some lights into the side of the bike for saftey at night.

Any thought of doing a wireless remote on/off. I think most of us would like to be able to turn it on/off on the fly, I know I would.

No error, more a timing issue. As we mentioned above we just decided to try and implement a simpler system for Spyders. We are always recreating to make the product as universal as possible.

Understood Nater1, If you can I would like to see a picture when you get a chance.

Thanks

This is the first edition release, we have had the key FOB in mind for some time and if we do we hope to be able to offer it in our next edition.

Legal?

Are these legal to have on in Arizona? I thought you are not allowed to have any colored side lights?

I went with white for they went best with a red spyder with grey rims.

I went with white ones for the reason you mentioned above which is in cheeseland poop poop will give you a ticket for impersonating a officer if you have red lights any where but for turning signal/brake lights, and blue anywhere. That includes any color that could be confused with red, or blue as well. I have heard of many follow residents getting tickets, and no warnings just straight up tickets of $700 with a appear notice. What the State DA does is drops the felony, but still sticks you with the $700 bill.

The white on the grey gives them that black light look I think.

The thing which is also nice is the photo eye, and the motion sensor which they have engineered into this product.

Just got mine today and installed them. It does seem like the newer mount would be better than the one I got. I have learned to hate allen wrenches in a real short time.

UPDATE:
Saw them tonight after dark....WOW, I like them.:ohyea::ohyea:
Had a question for GloRyder and they called me at 930 tonight with an answer. Now thats what I call customer support way above the normal.:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

Hi this is for GloRyder, is it possible to just buy the new wheel mounts? I am not sure if I got the orignal ones centered. I do not like the three allen screws for centering the mount.
