• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Installation of AutoCom Radios

I haven't on a Spyder...However I did try it on both my Harley Road Glide and my wife's Sportster...The Autocomm Active 7 is very proprietary in nature.
I mean that they (Autocom) only recommend using the Kenwood GMRS radios for bike to bike. Motorola FRS radios wouldn't work, well they did but they didn't work well. Also, adjusting some of the features on the unit required a SMALL flat head screw driver....

When installing the Autocomm unit, I hid mine in the side cover on the RG. Well if I needed to make ANY adjustments (Squelch, VOX, audio volume levels, etc.) I had to stop and make the adjustments and if I went to far one way or the other I had to stop again and try it again....It really worked well ONLY as an intercom unit. Bike to Bike never worked well even with $400 Kenwood radios on each bike. Never used the MP3 audio as I used the CD player on the RG instead, could control it better than the Autocomm unit.

It worked but getting the settings and all set "perfectly" never happened and I had the unit for about a year and half....

Hope this helps...

Again, not a Spyder but installed one on my BMW. It was an older model but worked very, very well. I had the bike stereo connected, my cell phone (on rare occasions), an FRS radio and, of course, intercom. The sound was excellent and we could talk to each other at any speed. Best bike intercom I've ever used. Used the FRS to talk to my wife when she was driving the motorhome, and that worked well.

I bought an Autocom Super Pro Automatic when I took delivery of my RT last March. I knew it would be good, I had used an earlier model Autocom, swapping it over the years from one bike to another and that gave great service.
