I bought this for my last spyder but didn't get around to installing it before I sold the bike last fall.

Has anyone installed this on an F3T? I believe I need to order a cable from Motorcycle Dave as I am to lazy to make one on my own.

I assume the install is similar to other spyder's with the BRP stereo?

Any hints on where you located the unit on the spyder and any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Same cable, many folks here have installed it.
call me if you need help

With the short cable, most people drill or cut a small hole to feed the audio and usb connector into the trunk. The location is favored towards the right side near the oem audio connector. This location allows the new cable to reach the oem radio unit.

There is a video by Finless Bob showing the cable and installation. Should on Daves site also.

You can use double stick foam or double stick velcro to mount the Sena SM10.

A F3T does not have a trunk. Can be bought and added as an accessory. If the OP does not want to spend the $1,500 to do that. I would think the glove box would be a good spot.

Overlooked F3T.

Probably less expensive and easier to just use a phone unless the F3T has audio and power interconnects already equipped for the SM 10.

The radio in the F3 is identical (same part number) to the RT. So the cable from Motorcycle Dave should plug right in and does by other postings. That will give both audio and power connections.

Remaining SM10 Bluetooth Dongle Install Questions

I believe the audio unit on the F3T is installed on the rear fender under the seat. I cannot find anyone who has installed the SM10 dongle on a F3T

i want to know where you installed it on a F3T? I was thinking I do not want it under the seat as that is not that easy to access to turn it off.

How long is the cable sold by motorcycle Dave? Is it long enough to install the SM10 dongle in the glove box or under the service panels?

The cable from MC Dave is 3' long.
It might reach the glove box from the radio but I just do not know as I do not know where the radio is on the F3T.

So the radio and the BT dongle connector (at the very rear) on the radio is shown here.
Thanks to a friend on FB for sending this.

I do not know if the 3' cable will reach to the glove box but it might with careful layout.

If not a simple micro USB extension cable and 3.5mm audio extension cable will work.

Consider +12V

Anyone have comments on where you mounted the SM10 unit as need to be able to get to it easily too turn it off

I wired mine to "the battery" (a hot wire I had run back for other things). Stays on 100%. Never had a problem, it would take a LOOONG time (many months not being run) to drain the battery enough to even notice a slow start. In Winter I use a trickle charger.

Thanks Finless

I will measure tonight but doubt that it would be long enough. The extension cables make sense. I may just mount under the rear seat as removing it is not a huge deal and I will only likely use this on longer trips when I want to access my iPod connected to the stereo. My iPhone is old and doesn't have enough space on it for my music. For short trips I will just use the fm radio in my Bluetooth headset. Not the best sound but good enough to listen to the news and similar to and from work
