There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I hope this isn't beating a dead horse regarding windshields, but when I do a search on the subject, it seems like most riders are well over my height. I got my Spyder a couple of nights ago, and I would like a wind/noise buffer. I prefer to look over a windshield as opposed to through but don't know if that is possible for what I am trying to achieve (wind/noise buffer). Are there any fellow riders out there about my height that have found success with a particular shield? I rode an SV650 throughout the year in Tennessee when I had it a couple of years ago, using the same helmet and just the standard shield on the SV, but did not experience the same wind/noise effect I find on the Spyder.

Any tips/suggestions would be very much appreciated. When I commute to work, I do mostly interstate driving.

Thanks!

I am 5' tall and have spent lots of money on windshields. The f1 was a joke, the BRP touring shield buffetted too much, and now the Calsci is doing the same. I am working with Calsci to try and fix the problem but so far, the original shield has been the best for me. I like some wind but would like a taller shield for longer trips. I don't like my head feeling like a speedbag being used by a really good boxer though!

Maybe SpyderRyder810 can chime in here. She is probably close to your height and she has Marcel's new slider windshield. She told me she really liked it a few weeks back. I also have his slider windshield and its working good for me. Its fairly new but the reviews have been very good.

Dragonheart go to my new thread :D "Input from 5' 2" female rider on windshield"...Joan

P.S. good luck...let me know how you make out

Wow, Joan. Thanks for your input on the windshield. This sounds like the ticket for me. When you are riding down the highway and it is in the perfect position for you, are you looking over the shield or through it?

Gayle

I'm looking over the windshield. Between sunglasses and the visor on my helmet...that's enough distortion to deal with...so make sure you look over your windshield if at all possible...and besides the smoke colored windshield looks so cool, yet would be very difficult to look through...Good Luck...Joan

Actually Marcel sent this windshield to bjt to try out. As it was, the windshield was too small for Brian and so he contacted me. Since we both live in Michigan, I rode up to his house and tested it out. In the meantime Marcel made Brian a taller windshield which worked for him. Give Marcel a call. It shouldn't take too long for him to make you one. Tell him you heard about the windshield from Brian & me, and that I was the person that bought the smaller windshield he had shipped to Brian. Marcel July's cell phone number is (941) 204-2733. His office number is (941) 743-3271. Let me know how it goes...Joan

Don't know about not taking long....I have been waiting quite a while for my slider after being promised 8 to 10 days...seems to be a nice enough guy though...think he is too busy...needs to hire more workers or be honest about how long it is going to take to get it out

Give Marcel a call. He really is a busy man and I suspect this is a small family business. Just remind him of your order and ask him to check on the delivery date...Joan

Evo III windshield

I have Marcels EVO III, and I look over the wind shield, have minimum buffeting at 75MPH, rode in a really bad fog the other morning, could see the water droplets go up the windshield then go right or left off of the windshield, the windshield was totally wet, not a drop hit my faceshield or helmet.Marcel is great to deal with.

How tall are you, Extracool?

I must admit I am a little apprehensive about Marcel now. I placed my order with him this past Saturday before seeing these posts about the long delays. He was indeed very nice and took time with me. I also notice this morning that he did charge my card.

Thanks,
Gayle

Gayle, don't be apprehensive about Marcel. He is a man of his word. He is also a very busy man. You just need to be proactive about this. If he says you'll get your windshield in 2 weeks and it's over 2 weeks, then by all means give him a call. And if need be call him again. Just be proactive!!!!!!!

:agree: He has always been good to me and my wife, dltang. He kept very close to his promised delivery dates to us and even overnighted a windshield to me, at his expense, when we had a windshield size problem.

Marcel actually called me back the other night and reassured me. He was very nice and I do feel better now. As it seemed the delivery would be over-extended I wasn't positive I wanted to go with his shield. However, after talking to him again, all is well and I am sticking with him. Thanks!

I'm 5'4" and ordered a 25" Evo III from Marcel July. I love it! He said it would take 9 days and that's what it took. I can see over the shield. He asked my height and what speed I drive and custom made it for me. He is very good to deal with!
