• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Inexpensive Com Unit

We have the G4's also, and love them. We Bluetooth them to out Iphone's and listen to music. goor reception between each for about a mile.

Back in the old days of full face helmets, we just used to touch them together and yell.

Every time I felt her helmet touch mine, I knew she had something to say ... or she'd fallen asleep:roflblack:.

But that was before all this technology:yikes:!

When riding two up and our com unit is not working...I find the "slap" on the helmet method works best to get my point across to Butch:roflblack:

I "believe" you can listen to a gps using bluetooth and plug an iPod directly into the unit. That's what I have done. But I don't know if you can pair the iPod (or iPhone) to the GPS and hear both by bluetooth. Haven't tried it, and I've pretty much decided that I drive better without too much chatter in my ears. When I hear the gps my passenger does not - which is a bit frustrating because she doesn't know she's been cut off. For both of us to listen to one iPod I think we'd need to use a "Y" connector and plug into both Sena units.

The Sena unit does provide a really good intercom between driver and passenger and my wife and I use ours regularly. It's neat that the unit stays on at gas stops and we can continue to talk as long as we keep our helmets on. I use custom earplugs with speakers and the sound through the Sena is very clear and volume is way more than I need.

What type

I have a flip front helmet so I am not certain what type to get. The unit for an open face helmet has a boom mike and for a full face has a wired mike. I am assuming I would need the boom mike style. Am I right???

 We're using boom type mics with our modulars...

Yup-- Boom mike for open face... you can buy extra mounting kits for like $35..... I have one on my 1/2 helmet... one on my full face... so just snap the Sena unit into whichever I'm going to wear..... very cool...

You cannot have an ipod or GPS single be sent to TWO headsets at the same time as far as I know.... don't think any unit on the market does this.

As far as connecting ipod & GPS at the same time.... yup.... a few ways it can be done....

Sena has just come out with a SM10 dual stream bluetooth stereo transmitter.

This may be what you are looking for. Says it will stream same audio to two helmets.
