• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Inaccurate speedometer / thermometer / clock

Ok everyone's got an opinion. I get that almost no one really cares about what time or temp it really is. The guy that started this thread just asked a simple question. 1) Dose anyone else have the same flaw? and 2) Has anyone heard of a fix for it? Give him a break. I for one have the same temp error< 2015 RT-S SE6 Today bike said it was 32 degrees and the outside thermometer said it was only 23. I too still rode to work on the bike. I just set the clock and calendar for the first time 3 days ago so not sure on that point. If BRP didn't want to put a accurate time or temp display on their machine why did they bother to put them their at all.

I do believe I answered his question regarding the temperature indication, since I used to have that problem as well, and fixed it- primarily because I cared there was inacurate data being sent to the ECM.

With built in inaccurate speedometer you clock more miles than you actually drive and the trade in value is adversely affected. You not only get screwed in initial purchase but also at trade in time. When I lay down good money for something I EXPECT it to work as it is supposed to and be accurate. Can Am does seem to have the care to make a proper product as long as it sells it must be okay. So why take any pride in producing a quality product.

I had a Suzuki Burgman 650 that speedo was off 10%, that's more than the Spyder.:(

Speedo error - keep up with the traffic flow, that's what I would do if the speedo was accurate so who cares, safer anyway.
Clock - many other ways to tell the time, phone, watch, Bank sign which has the temp as well.
Temperature - not an engineer so cant't speak to any ECM issues and this too doesn't matter I will ride if I want to no matter the temp.

All that said, with my eyes even with glasses the speedo is the only one I can read anyway.:D

The BMW K1200 is 10% off as well, except for the Police versions...go figure.

I'm not sure that 3 mph variation is going to significantly change any value of the bike. Isn't that only about 1500 miles every 50,000 miles? If your dealer that you trade in to says it does, trade her in after winter garage time... Seems like changing the rear tire is the easiest fix for that, and if it is merely for peace of mind, drive at 63 mph and feel like a rebel! :yikes:

Temp

I wish BRP did not show the ambient temperature to the rider, it just makes for confusion. The temperature shown has nothing to do with your comfort. The sensor is placed near the intake of the motor for the purpose of adjusting the correct air/fuel mixture. If you move the sensor you are defeating the purpose of it. Leave it alone and don't pay any attention to the temperature display on the console.

With all due respect, the sensor is NOT placed near the intake. It is placed in a "dead air" location, on the right side if the frunk, where at times, is greater than 20 degrees off from air entering the motor, and slow to react. I agree, the purpose is for the ECM, and moving it to where it more accurately represents the air entering the throttle bodies. So, now I have and ACCURATE reading of the temperature AND so does the ECM.

I totally agree, the inaccuracies do nothing to damper my ride, but you would think for the price and pride of things, they could get it right on 2 out of 3. JMHO

Some folks just aren't happy; if they're not miserable... nojoke

Give a person a piece of bread and they want two. Give them two and they want Ham in the middle. Give them Ham and they want lettuce. Give them lettuce and the want tomato also. Give them mustard and they also want ???

Well you get the idea. Some people always want more than they have and they want it for free. Sound familiar?

Next time I take her dress off, i'll post a pic.

:opps: We ARE talking about your Spyder; aren't we?? :opps:

:D
I do respectfully disagree... even though I certainly don't know much about this....;)
Since pressure is being read; the air should not have any significant amount of movement going on...
What is "significant"? :dontknow:

On the speedo (not that it really matters anyway as I don't worry about a few mph off) but I mentioned early in this thread, at least for me, only the digital display is off, the analog speedo seems to be right on with the GPS and a few mph less than digital. Don't know if that matters but it would be nice if at least the 2 speedometers on the dash matched each other.
