• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nice post here. I will be taking the same type cold trip to my dealer in a few weeks :yes: But I am curious (not trying to start any arguments) :roflblack: about the items people have done or not done, compared to the BRP maint. schedule. Anybody care to tell me (us) what items they don't follow on the BRP maint. schedule? Primarily wondering about those based on "years/miles". Do you favor one point over the other, and why? Just curious, with so many "professional "facts/opinions" about any maintenance subject and components you want, showing up on the web.:gaah:
 
At the moment, we are working with new Spyders. One brand new (3,000 miles) and one year old with (15,000) miles. Both just required oil change out and filter plus a check over to make sure other things were all right. Both exhibited NO issues or problems...so that is what we told LaMonster Garage. I did put a rear tire on the 15K bike (K9). No fronts, but maybe should have. Time will tell on that decision. :bbq:

When you get up to 28K miles...there is a pretty long service list. We did that on the previous bikes when it arrived. Neither of the older bikes made it to 56K service. They were traded off in the mid 40's.
 
I believe the engineers who designed them understand the maintenance needs better than I do. Fluids (oil, brake fluid, coolant, etc. ) degrade over time as well as with use. There’s a reason the maintenance schedule has both time and mileage limits.

I see following the maintenance recommendations as ‘cheap insurance’. I paid a hockey sock full of money for the things. I don’t want to spend even more on major repairs because I tried to save a few $ skimping on maintenance.
 
I'd just suggest taking them in for annual service in late Fall to avoid the Spring rush and so they don't set with the used oil in them over the winter.
