• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In For Repair

Took the RT into Flat Out Powersports in Martinsville, IN for a few things.
1. The air ride system is not staying up or pumping up.
2. The clamp on the right side is seeping antifreeze.
3. The DPS has had a few codes thrown and stopped working at times when weather was very hot.
4. The front of the seat has a spot that is starting to come apart.
According to Cory, the Service Manager, everything should be covered except for the seat. He was not sure about that. He promised me the bike back by the end of the month. When I ask him about some shops keeping repairs for weeks and even months, he said, "Why would I want to do that? The quicker I get you in and out the quicker we can get paid." I like the way the man thinks. Some of the dealers I have heard about should take note of what he said.

I'm glad to hear that you've got a good dealer who's looking out for you.

And the seat should also be covered! Push a little bit, and see what happens. :D

Not sure about Flat Out Martinsville, but I do not even like buying parts from Flat Out Indianapolis. Bought my Spyder at Maximum Powersports in Peru, In and return there for all service and parts. Just my 2 cents.

It's a keeper

Hang on to them. The seat is a know problem and i think should be covered. He is right yet many shops seem to have no problem hanging on to your spyder. I always say check that they have the parts before you drop it off...:spyder:

Quick Response

Corey from Flatout Can Am in Martinsville just called and they are right on top of it. They have already submitted a claim for the seat and compressor, tightened a few connections, and are checking BUDS and the DPS codes. Looks like a good repair shop! (fingers crossed)

Fan of Maximum in Peru.

I am willing to make the 70 mile trip to Peru for any warranty or general service work on my :spyder2:. Great people to deal with and the service manager(a lady by the way) really knows her stuff. For any non-warranty work the labor rate at Maximum is about 40% less than Flat Out.

BRP done right by me!

Got all of the work done. They fixed the minor coolant leak, replaced the seat, replaced the air compressor and hoses, and adjusted the steering angle sensor. Total of $1600.00 in parts and labor. My part of that.......... $63.00! Yay, BRP!!

Just curious, if it is still under factory warranty why did you have any part of it?

Well, I had had a DPS error (dynamic power steering) a few times in the summer and they said the only thing they could find was the angle sensor was off. I just rode home and I can tell that the steering is better, so glad that was done. Charged me $60 and a $3 shop fee for that reset. Not covered under manufacturer warranty.
Time will tell. If it starts throwing codes again, we will revisit the situation.
