I’m in love with my :spyder2: again! After the update, like so many others, my ryde started sputtering, backfiring, and developed a gas smell to the point it was just no fun to ride anymore. I went to three different dealers and had the update re-installed and still no change. I was waiting, not so patiently, for update 2, but it never transpired! So finally, thanks to the detailed instructions by Lamonster and Latemarch, I performed the “canisterectomy” and installed a K&N air filter. It now runs so sweet it is a pleasure to ryde again! I also installed a Two Brothers PowerTip Sound Arrestor. There was a bit of a tradeoff with the volume, but I think it still sounds good and there’s no backfire! All of these remedies were suggested here on Spyderlovers. Thanks, for all the advise and help!
