• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'M HOLDING OUT..

Like the F3, like all the new flashy paint jobs, except that thing with the goofy red frunk tongue.
But, I am holding out.

I am going to take extra special care of the one I've got, and will under no circumstance replace it
with a newer, nicer, or different Spyder UNTIL Canned Ham will sell one that starts like
EVERY OTHER MOTORVEHICLE on the Planet.

They have demonstrated they CAN do this with their "law enforcement " special. Their website makes
it sound like this is something REMARKABLE !

How many Commanders or SeaDoos do you think they could sell if they told all potential customers
they had to wait a couple minutes to get it to turn over.

If Hyundai or Kia can do it in a 13k car, Canned Ham should be able to do it with a near 30K cycle.

Thanks for allowing me to ventilate. The rest of it is all sooo good, why are they spoiling the whole package?

A glorious Holiday Season to you all.

Side note...

They did improve this in the 14/15 RT and especially on the F3...but then I have an RS and the wait is minimal...:gaah:

It takes that long just for a Harley to crank over!

I am holding out as well, and likely will not be purchasing another. Very disappointed in BRP's geezer pleaser lineup.[emoji107]

It's all about time management. As soon as you walk up to your bike put the key in and turn it on. By the time you're ready to go, the bike's ready. Don't let it ruin your day!

Peace out.

 I resemble that remark... :lecturef_smilie:

:roflblack:
No offense directed toward you or anyone else, none at all. Just not all of us are looking for a 1200lb bagger that is as big as a small car.

Also, IMHO its this "develop for the current market" mindset that will leave them lagging. They are focusing on the bagger market, the bagger market is actually a dying trend and giving way quickly to the adventure touring market.

Would you prefer one of these? :D

I was busy yesterday and didn't see this but, I have a 2015 RT Limited, and don't see any improvement on mine. There is a longish delay between turning on the key, and being able to start it.

It's different Bob, but just another RS.

Most get into the spyder either because it's new, unique, and like something they have never seen/ridden before OR because they are not comfortable on 2 wheels anymore.
Just seems like BRP has lost 50% of their focus. The RT market is a solid touring market with the latter half. However, Silly BRP chasing around the Harley bagger crowd....
They really need to look at the direction and new offerings that other manufacturers are trending toward and get ahead of that game. While I love my Harley, I don't think I'd be chasing a dying bagger market that is down something like 20%.
Again, IMHO....

Jack, my dad and I used that term when we were at the dealer looking at a Toyota Avalon. The sales guy ask what he was looking for in a car and my dad 73yrs old said he was looking for a geezer pleaser....[emoji23]

Get serious. There's been a lot of chatter on here lately complaining about Harley riders putting down the Spyders, but it seems like it is the other way around on this forum.

David
Don't let it bother you David, there are the same stupid comments on the Harley forums about spyders and training wheels, etc etc. The majority of the comments on either side come from people who have never ridden/owned the other.
Since currently owning both, I just let it roll on both sides.

Harleys and Spyders are truly apples and oranges machines.

EXACTLY.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

1-approch spyder
2-turn key on (key was in ignition)
3-put sunglasses on
4-zip jacket
5-put hat on
6-start spyder
7-put gloves on
8-get on and ride
9-NEVER RUSH

:agree: That is what I do. As I walk into the garage, I put the key in the switch, turn it on, grab my jacket, put it on, put my helmet on and by this time the Spyder

is waiting on me to hit the starter switch. I do a similar thing when I stop somewhere, as I get to the Spyder I put the key in the switch and turn it on, put helmet and gloves
on and again the Spyder is waiting on me to hit the starter. On the other hand, I am an old fart and I usually am not in a rush, so I do not mind waiting for the re-boot time.
Bottom line is ride what you like, to each his or her own.:thumbup:

My F3-S will start in about 3 sec. Like HD, BRP is following the buyer and market. HD sales are down but enter Victory and Indian to give US centric buyers a choice.

What choices do the market want? The buying customers are by-passing the RSb platform.

It's a techy world but think of it this way...would you want the pilot of the airliner skipping pre takeoff checks..? There are ways to feel less stressed. Turn the key hit the mode and then put your gear on. It will start right up ...
